🥖🔥 Cubs Make Stokbrood! 🔥🥖

This week our Cubs got hands‑on with one of the best campfire traditions — stokbrood (bread on a stick). They mixed, shaped, and baked their own bread over the fire, learning skills that go far beyond tasty bites!

Along the way, they practiced:
- Fire safety — how to build, manage, and respect a campfire.
- Cooking outdoors — preparing food in nature with simple tools.
- Patience — waiting for the bread to cook just right.
- Teamwork — helping each other with mixing, shaping, and turning the sticks.
- Creativity — adding fun twists like cinnamon sugar or cheese fillings.

👏 Well done Cubs — you didn’t just make bread, you made memories and skills for life!

⚜️ A Moment of Pure Pride: Celebrating Our Newest Scouts! 🪵✨

There is a unique magic in the air during a Scout Investiture Ceremony. It is the exact moment a child transitions from an outsider looking in, to a true member of our global Scouting family. This week, we officially welcomed our newest Scouts, and the room was absolutely bursting with emotion!
For the children, making their Scout Promise is a massive milestone. Standing tall, wearing their uniform for the first time, and receiving their group scarf is a profound moment of personal achievement. You could see the mix of nervousness and absolute thrill on their faces as they took their pledge.

What This Special Milestone Means:

* For Our New Scouts: It is the start of an adventure filled with camping, independence, and lifelong friendships. They walked into the room as individuals and walked out as part of a patrol.
* For Our Parents: Watching from the sidelines, there is nothing quite like the feeling of watching your child step up, take responsibility, and commit to being a kind, helpful citizen.
* For Our Leaders: It is an honor to witness the next generation embrace the core values of scouting and pledge to leave the world a little better than they found it.

The smiles on the kids' faces were only matched by the proud tears and beaming grins of the parents holding up their phones to capture the moment. Welcome to the adventure, everyone! Your journey starts now. 🏕️🎒

Some of our parents went to the Scouts Management course in Pinelands.
It was a great day of learning more about Scouts and what we need to make 1st Worcester Scouts run like a well oiled machine.

Thank you to our parents who offered up their time and for our Scout leaders who arranged this.
