This time of year just hits differently when you're driving long distance. So layer up, keep something warm close by, take it slow when the weather turns, and don’t ignore it if your body feels run down.

Winter roads are tough — but so are the drivers who push through them every day.

🚛 Healthcare That Comes to You

Thank you Liquor Runners, for booking your Mobile Wellness Day with us!

Our Trucking Wellness Mobile Clinics travel to where drivers are — at depots, truck yards, and workplaces — so you can get checked without missing too much time on the road.

The mobile clinics bring trained staff and all the equipment needed to help drivers on-site. We also set up gazebos to assist more people at once, making the process quicker and easier for everyone.

Drivers — you can help bring a Mobile Clinic to your workplace. Share this post with your fleet manager or supervisor and ask them to book a Wellness Day for your team.

We are thrilled to welcome two incredible professionals to the Trucking Wellness family — Nthabiseng Motete and Helvy Enocentia Mabunda — who joined our team at the Sasolburg Roadside Wellness Centre! 💙

👩‍⚕️ Nthabiseng, our Registered Nurse, brings compassion and dedication to patient care, with a strong passion for health education.
She believes that reassuring a worried patient and providing meaningful health education can change someone’s entire life.
Outside of work, Nthabiseng enjoys travelling and watching series, and is known for her wicked sense of humour that brings warmth to those around her. She finds inspiration in the gratitude she receives from patients and lives by the belief: “Nothing is impossible with God.”

👩‍🏫 Helvy serves as our dedicated Lay Counsellor who is passionate about supporting driver health through education and outreach.
She plays an important role in giving health talks to truck drivers, helping them understand the dangers of not regularly checking their health and the benefits of knowing their health status.
Outside of work, Helvy enjoys reading novels, travelling, and attending church, and is proudly known as her family’s unofficial event planner. Her guiding motto is: “Do small things with great love.”

Together, Nthabiseng and Helvy bring compassion, dedication, and heart to the Sasolburg Roadside Wellness Centre — strengthening the care Trucking Wellness provides to our trucking community. 🚛🩺

🚚 Progress in Action — Thank You, Unitrans!

We’re proud to share an update on our Care Plan cloud-based Primary Healthcare (PHC) platform — made possible through the valued support of Unitrans.

This has now been rolled out to all Trucking Wellness clinics, marking an important step toward strengthening healthcare delivery through improved efficiency, streamlined record-keeping, and better continuity of care for truck drivers across South Africa

Partnerships like this continue to drive innovation and improve health outcomes across the transport industry.

Prevention Tips for Drivers:
🦟 Spray insect repellent in your cab, then keep doors and windows closed for 5–10 minutes
🧴 Use DEET insect repellent on exposed skin
👕 Wear light, long-sleeved clothing and trousers
🩺 See a healthcare professional immediately if you feel unwell after travelling in a malaria-risk area
