Our Social Programs/Interventions include but not limited to, Family Preservation, Foster care, Victim Empowerment Program (In partnership with the SAPS at the local Police Stations) Parenting Programs, Substance Abuse counseling and referrals to the treatment center for dependency or Addictive Disorders, Teen Pregnancy, Social Behavior Change Program for young boys in the communities and Drug Addiction Awareness campaigns. From the to the - this session's conversation was on personal values. After completing their family trees and finding out information from their parents about their clan names and family history, the participants in this session discussed their personal values and understanding why it is important to have good values.

The session in the ChommY programme is all about assisting in building a bond between children (ages 10-14) and their parents through the family building.

In this session we ask the children about their family tree, their roots and the session ends with them having to come back (for the next session) with their research on their family tree. It encourages communication between parents and children.

It is good to know where you come from so you know where you are going. This principle is very important for children to understand early.💡

🤩This men championing change session changed minds and we love it.

In the session the conversation was around s*x and gender. Our team was happy to see that most of the men had only positivity and acceptance to share about the LGBTI+ community🏳️‍🌈

A lot of men they thought it brought shame to the family if e.g their son was gay and they definitely had a lot of questions about the different orientations. But they now understand that all we need in life in understanding of each other and acceptance.

Wherever you are, always ask for understanding and accept people as they are! Let's keep having these conversations👥

📢Ke Moja!

The team in Thaba Nchu stays busy empowering the community with information and programs that help them make better choices. Here they were talking to the youth about drugs and substance abuse.

❗️It was amazing to hear the participants share their knowledge about the dangers of substance abuse - they told us that substance abuse increases the chance of contracting infections like HIV because of needle sharing and we discussed so much more.

At the end of the session they felt that they want to be surrounded by more positive and supportive friends and engage in activities that bring joy and fulfillment to their lives.

✨Let's continue to affect positive change in the lives of young people.

🤸🤸‍♂️🤸‍♀️Let's play a game: Go, Stop and Clap!

❗️This game is used to practically help young people understand the concept of listening and concentrating.

❗️Our team used this method as a way to address the need for good decision-making. The participants needed to know how to switch off outside noise and focus on a goal. In this case the goal was winning the game.

💡In real life the goal is to do well at school, at sports, be respectful and achieve great things while switching off the noise of peer pressure and bad choices.

Join us in the game!

🤝🏾Our team in Thaba Nchu recently had an engagement with the youth and parents.

👥We discussed various topics with the parent about their children and with the youth about their relationships with their parents.

The important thing was leaving the families with open lines of communication to help build strong, loving and safe families for all.🏘
