Kempton Park / F-Stop Photographic Society The objectives of the club are the promotion of amateur photography and generally to enhance the interest in all subjects related to photography.

F-stop Photographic Society is a Club that is affiliated with the Photographic Society of South Africa ("PSSA"). This objective is achieved by having regular meetings, lectures, demonstrations, displays, competitions and other opportunities that the committee sees fit for the promotion of the photographic needs of its members. For people who care about photography. Promoting and evolving people's

interest in photography. We meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the NG Church Bonaeropark, 32 Malpensa Ave, Bonaero Park, Kempton Park.

February was all about shallow depth of field. It’s one of those techniques that looks effortless when it’s done well, but it demands precision. Focus has to be deliberate. Composition has to support it. There’s nowhere to hide.

We saw a strong variety of work on the night, from intimate close-ups to bold nature studies. Thank you to Mariana Kruger for the honest, practical feedback throughout the evening.

January’s meeting was all about black and white portraits, and it was a good one. Stripping colour out of the frame really puts the focus on expression, light, and how you connect with your subject. There was a solid mix of styles on the night, from quiet and subtle to bold and graphic.

Thanks to Francois Venter for judging and for taking the time to share honest, practical feedback. It always makes a difference.
