🇿🇦 SOUTH AFRICA, YOU CAN BE PROUD! 🇯🇴
As the Masters World Championships draw to a close on Sunday in Amman, Jordan, we celebrate a South African team that has made our country immensely proud.
🥇 Monty De B**r claimed the GOLD MEDAL and the title of World Champion! A magnificent achievement reflecting his dedication, determination and fighting spirit.
🇿🇦 Andy Patrick finished fifth in the world, narrowly missing out on a medal after losing his bronze medal match. Competing among the world’s best and reaching that stage is an achievement worthy of enormous pride.
To coach Duane van Staden, thank you for your guidance, commitment and support in helping our wrestlers perform on the world stage.
👏 Our referees, Valarie Cornelius and Zumicke Geringer, also deserve special recognition. At their first ever international competition, they proudly demonstrated the quality of South African refereeing. Congratulations to both on this outstanding milestone!
On behalf of the South African Wrestling Federation and all of South Africa, THANK YOU to all five of you for representing our wrestling community with such pride and dedication.
From the competition mat to the officials’ table, you have given South Africa so much to celebrate! 💚💛
