News for community interest:

Yesterday we were tagged left, right and centre about payments of residents who are enrolled for Agriculture learnership.

Today we are happy to tell you the journey we have started with them from the beginning has now paid off, they got their salaries.

Clarity :

Initially the enrolled residents were told the payments would take time for the first one due to adminstration processes, that is the reason why the enrolled residents were very much relaxed even when those who claim where all over the place trying to politicize the whole issue 🙏

Grassroots Tertiary Application Initiative Launched to Empower Ward 10 Matriculants and Adult Learners

The Avon Eye Community Forum warmly commends a vital educational initiative led by community leader Serakalala Sontaga Eliphas and the esteemed Dr. Rapanyane Benjamin (PhD), which provides direct, hands-on assistance with tertiary institution applications. This program directly addresses the practical needs of our community by breaking down barriers to higher education, specifically targeting both recent matriculants and adult learners who completed their studies years ago. By bringing high-caliber academic guidance directly to our doorstep, Serakalala Eliphas continues to demonstrate the exact type of proactive, dependable, and ground-level leadership that identifies local gaps and delivers real solutions for the people of Ward 10.

We encourage all qualifying youth and older residents who wish to further their studies to attend these essential sessions. Please bring along your necessary documents (such as ID copies and Matric certificates) to Mmapitsi Shop, where the team will be assisting residents today, Tuesday, 26 May 2026 at 13:00, and tomorrow, Wednesday, 27 May 2026 from 09:00 to 11:00. Let us support this practical action that lifts our community through unity and education.

OFFICIAL PLEDGE OF SUPPORT FROM THE AVON EYE COMMUNITY FORUM

To the Residents of Ward 10 (Marobjane / Avon),

For years, our community has watched political parties make grand promises, only to disappear once the election season ends. We have felt the direct impact of broken commitments, vanished funds, and a system that prioritizes "distant party bosses" over the actual needs of our streets.

We refuse to be ruled by abusive political party structures any longer. Political parties answer to their leadership and alliances; they do not answer to us.

It is time for a radical shift toward true community ownership.

Therefore, the Avon Eye Community Forum officially and wholeheartedly pledges its full support to Serakalala Eliphas as our Independent Candidate for Ward 10 Councillor.

Why We Stand With Serakalala Eliphas

We believe that local governance should belong to the people who actually live here. Serakalala Eliphas represents the exact leadership Ward 10 desperately needs:

Direct Accountability: As an independent candidate, he is not controlled by a political party. He answers only to the residents of Marobjane and Avon. If he fails us, he faces us—not a party committee behind closed doors.

A Neighbor, Not a Logo: On election day, we are choosing a neighbor who stays to do the work, not a faceless political brand.
Action on Our Core Grievances: We are standing with him to demand and build:

Reliable water infrastructure for Avon.

Fair, nepotism-free job allocation in Marobjane.

Direct access to our councillor whenever the community needs him.

Our Call to Action to Ward 10 Residents
This is our opportunity to co-author a Local Service Delivery Guarantee that actually works for our streets. We are calling on all neighbors, community leaders, and residents to look past the political logos and vote for real, measurable change.

Let’s stop voting for parties that abuse our trust. Let’s bring our ideas, bring our neighbors, and build Ward 10 together.

Ke wa rena. Wa ditirelo. (He is ours. He is for services.)

Signed,The Leadership & Members of the Avon Eye Community Forum

SUBJECT: CORRECTION AND CLARIFICATION ON RECENT POLITICAL ENDORSEMENTS AND CHANGES IN EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP

The executive committee and members of the Avon Eye Community Forum have noted with great concern a controversial post by Oscar Chidi, endorsing a specific individual for the upcoming local government elections.

As an organization deeply rooted in the advancement and defense of our community, we wish to officially clarify our position, reaffirm our core mandate, and announce the immediate organizational measures taken in response to this matter.

1. The Sacred Responsibility of Leadership

As leaders of Avon Eye, we carry a profound and weighty responsibility. The masses of Marobjane have placed their immense trust in us to defend their interests.

With a clear conscience, we cannot and will not participate in a manner that betrays that trust. We refuse to take the very people who came to us crying, seeking relief from oppression, and lead them right back into the hands of the same system that has abused and exploited them for years. It is our absolute responsibility to deliver our community from this cycle and lead them toward an alternate reality one built on genuine accountability, justice, and community-led progress.

2. Distance from Party Politics and Individual Endorsements

Like any individual citizen of South Africa, Mr. Chidi possesses the constitutional right to associate with and endorse any political candidate of his choosing. However, Avon Eye is not a one-man show.We operate as a collective executive, and our organizational decisions are never mandated by a single individual.

The members and leaders of Avon Eye came together from various political backgrounds with a shared, conscious decision: to strip away party politics and focus purely on serving our community.

3. Our Stand Against Systems of Governance Failures

To this moment, Avon Eye does not, and will not, endorse any political party. The political options currently on the table represent the very entities we have continuously fought against regarding the misuse of community resources.

We cannot be found endorsing a system that still, to this day, participates in the unjust and corrupt hiring of personnel at the expense of our people. Consequently, we categorically reject the ANC and all ANC candidates. We refuse to be subjected to, or succumb to, decisions that align us with the structural failures we are actively fighting to dismantle.

4. Executive Briefing and the Action Taken

Following the controversial post, the Executive Committee held an urgent meeting with Mr. Chidi. During this meeting, he expressed a view that a certain political faction was gaining ground, and stated that his endorsement was an attempt to curb that faction's chances of winning.

This political maneuvering completely contradicts the foundational resolutions and non-partisan mandate of Avon Eye. In light of this, the collective took the following steps:

We formally requested that he retract the political posture he took; he refused.
We formally requested that he step aside from his leadership role; he refused.

5. Resolution of the Collective Executive

Because we refuse to allow the integrity of this forum to be compromised or dictated by one man's personal views, the Executive Committee has reached a final resolution:

Effective immediately, Oscar Chidi will be referred to only as the "Former Chairman." He is stripped of his capacity to speak or act on behalf of the forum. This measure will remain firmly in place until such a time that he issues a formal retraction and a public apology to the people of Marobjane.

Avon Eye belongs to the community, not to individuals, factions, or political parties. We remain unified, steadfast, and entirely focused on service delivery, justice, and delivering the alternative future that Marobjane deserves.

DATE: 12 May 2026
SUBJECT: Urgent Intervention Required: Water Crisis, Infrastructure Failure, and Political Opportunism

The Avon Eye Community Forum is deeply concerned and outraged by the current water crisis affecting our residents. While many of our neighbors are facing completely dry taps and a lack of basic access to water, we are witnessing a heartbreaking waste of this precious resource due to neglected infrastructure.

The Evidence of Neglect Attached to this statement is a video received from a concerned resident, showing a significant leak where water is flowing uncontrollably. This visual evidence highlights a painful contradiction: while our people are struggling to find water for basic needs, thousands of liters are being wasted because of a slow response to repairs.

Political Campaigning vs. Reality

Avon Eye notes with extreme disappointment that while our residents suffer, some individuals are proudly taking to various platforms to use a failed water project—one that was allocated millions of Rands—to politically campaign and claim "easy victories."

We want to make it clear: There is no victory while the community is still thirsty. Boasting about budgets and projects on paper does nothing for the mother who has no water to cook for her children today. We refuse to let political grandstanding overshadow the reality of failed service delivery.

Our Demand for Action We officially call upon the local municipality and the relevant water department to:

Immediate Repair: Dispatch technical teams to fix the leak shown in the attached video immediately.
Restore Supply: Provide an urgent timeline for when water will be restored to the dry areas of our community.
Accountability for Millions: Provide transparency on why "multi-million rand projects" have failed to deliver a single drop of consistent water to our taps.

Avon Eye will continue to monitor this situation closely. We are documenting these failures and will continue to be the voice of the residents against empty promises.

"Our community’s dignity depends on the resources we protect together."

Public notice

Dearly beloved residents and those that live in communities near by, it has been reported to us Avon Eye by our sister Forum in Endrimark DRC that this incident of burglary has happened in Endrimark last night.

In the pictures are people that look of Ethiopian origin who have been captured my cameras robbing shops.

We are residents we know these people as shop owners and now it seems there are on to a total different mission of violence as it is reported they even had guns. This would now seem to be turf wars.

We cannot as residents and citizens of this country allow this manner of thuggery to grow as we will be collateral at some point and fall victim of this emerging violence.

We call on all residents of Blouberg to identify these individuals and we also call for a serious conversation with Ethiopians and Somali in our communities. As Avon Eye we will head on engage them and make it known to them we will not tolerate what they want to turn our communities into.

We love our communities and we fight for them .
