This is the first promo video we made when we started fundraising towards fencing what became phase 1 of Westdene Park. Look how far we’ve come! It seemed like an impossible task and yet we are now halfway towards the required funds for phase 2 & 3. Through incredible generosity from residents and businesses invested in our communities, we have made fantastic progress and united our communities. Westdene Park needs you 🫵 Let’s grow a greener tomorrow, together. We can do this 🫶

Happiness is breakfast in the mornings 😍 The springbok’s diet is supplemented with lucerne pellets twice a week to keep them returning to a central point. This will be necessary if veterinary care or relocation is required

Thank you My City Bloemfontein for sharing in our journey as we strive to create something amazing in the heart of the city 🤩

The Westdene Park Conservancy welcomes two new springbok rams, recently arrived and already drawing attention from walkers and nature lovers in the community! Their presence is a fresh and exciting addition to the conservancy, as the pair has begun exploring and settling into their new territory.

Since their arrival, these springboks have become a talking point among regular visitors, who often keep an eye out for the duo on early-morning or late-afternoon walks. Watching them move through the veld adds a unique sense of charm to the area!

Although the springboks are the newest residents, the conservancy continues to host a variety of wildlife, including several tortoises. Among them is “Lucky,” a well-known local favourite who occasionally appears along the pathways. Seeing both the newly arrived rams and the tortoises on the same walk has quickly become a special experience for many. The conservancy remains a space for walking and enjoying the outdoors, and visitors are welcome to bring their dogs along as long as they stay on a leash to protect the wildlife.

With easy access via Albrecht, Reyger and Gen Hertzog gates, the area offers a convenient natural escape for the whole community. Residents are encouraged to become members and support the conservancy’s continued efforts to care for and protect its wildlife, including the two newly settled springboks who now call this space home.
