T-3 Days to the KWAY SkyRun! Lihann Kriek has packed his bags and is ready to take on the 100km!
Lets support him now as he needs it more than ever!
You are still able to get involved, please read below:
🏔 1. Rand per Kilometer Challenge
Concept: Sponsors pledge a certain amount for every kilometre completed.
Example: R5/km × 100 km = R500 donation.
Variation: Allow supporters to “buy” specific kilometres (e.g., “Own kilometre 47 for R100”).
⏱ 2. Rand per Hour Challenge
Concept: Supporters pledge per hour on the trail.
Example: If the SkyRun takes 15 hours, a pledge of R20/hour = R300.
Twist: Offer “bonus hours” — if the runner finishes faster, sponsors double their donation.
💧 3. The Survival Challenge
Concept: For every checkpoint reached, a sponsor donates an increasing amount.
Example: R100 for checkpoint 1, R200 for checkpoint 2, R300 for checkpoint 3…
🥾 4. “Pay for Pain” Pledge
Concept: The more brutal it gets, the more you give!
Examples:
R100 for every blister.
R250 for every hill over 1,000m elevation.
R500 if he finishes in rain, wind, or under tough conditions.
❤ 5. Heartbeat Challenge
Concept: Sponsors donate based on the runner’s heart rate peaks.
Example: R1 for every heartbeat over 150 bpm captured on his fitness tracker.
Adds a tech angle and real-time engagement for social media updates.
📱 6. Social Media Milestone Pledge
Concept: For every milestone posted online, sponsors contribute.
Example:
R100 for every live update.
R50 for every supporter comment or share on a SkyRun post.
🪙 7. Team Challenge – “Sponsor a Leg”
Concept: Divide the race into 10 legs, and businesses or families “adopt” a section.
Example: R1,000 per leg, with the sponsor’s name featured on race-day gear or banners.
🔥 8. Finish Line Double-Up
Concept: If the runner finishes within a set time goal (e.g., under 14 hours), every sponsor doubles their donation.
🧊 9. “Cold Shower for a Cause” Challenge
Concept: For every R1,000 raised, one supporter agrees to take a 1-minute ice shower live online.
Adds humour and team spirit — turning supporters into participants.
