Vrystaat Nasorgsentrum / Free State Residential Care Centre Free State Residential Care Centre provides a home to intellectual disabled adults. The Centre aims t Bakkery, Pottebakkery, Houtwerk, Naaldwerk of Drukwerk.

Die Vrystaat Nasorgsentrum lewer dienste aan volwasse persone wat leef met intellektuele uitdagings en bied versorging aan 155 permanente inwoners en 30 dagbesoekers. Die Sentrum is in 1981 gestig en is as ʼn Nie-winsgewende Organisasie geregistreer met die volgende registrasie nommer 002 795 NPO. Die inwoners se ouderdom wissel van 18 jaar tot 60 jaar en die meeste van hulle is al vir baie jare

hier hoofsaaklik omdat hulle veilig en versorg voel. Ons streef steeds daarna om ʼn Sentrum van uitnemendheid ten opsigte van dienste aan ons begunstigdes te wees. Al die inwoners is betrokke by een van die volgende terapie areas ( of ook bekend as werkswinkels) nl. Sommige verkies om in die kombuis, washuis of skoonmaak afdeling te help en ʼn paar is betrokke by die onderhoud van geboue en tuine. Elkeen het sy werk en voel nuttig en doen hul werk met trots.

Houtwerkinstrukteur Vrystaat Nasorgsentrum

Die Vrystaat Nasorgsentrum vir Verstandelik Gestremde Volwassenes, is ‘n geregistreerde NPO (Nie-winsgewende Organisasie), wat ‘n veilige woon en werksomgewing vir volwasse persone met ‘n verstandelike gestremdheid bied. Die Sentrum het ‘n permanente pos vir ‘n instrukteur in die Houtwerkwerkswinkel beskikbaar.

Posvereistes

Praktiese ervaring en kennis van Houtwerk en restorasiewerk (skrynwerker/Kabinetmaker/Houtwerkonderwyser)
Die vermoë om basiese houtwerkvaardighede aan volwassenes met ‘n verstandelike inperking oor te dra
Die ontwerp en vervaardig van kosepmodelle en voorbeelde wat gebruik kan word in die produksielyn
Die uitwerk van kwotasies vir bestellings en kontrakwerk
Die berekening van materiaal en voorrade vir projekte
Die toedeel van produksietake aan verstandelik gestremde begunstigdes
Toesig oor die uitvoer van take deur die verstandelik gestremde begunstigdes
Toesig oor die verantwoordelike en veilige gebruik van gereedskap en masjinerie
Vaardigheid in die verantwoordelike gebruik en instandhouding van Houtwerkmasjiene
`Bestuur van ‘n effektiewe produksielyn
Die bestuur van assistent instrukteurs en handlangers
Verantwoordelik vir die ontwikkeling van nuwe markgerigte produklyne
Evaluering van vaardighede van begunstigdes onder leiding van ‘n Arbeidsterapeut
Bestuur van produksietydlyne om voldoende produkte vir bestellings, markte en uitstallings te lewer
Die vaardigheid om met volwasse persone met ‘n verstandelike gestremdheid te werk
‘n Geldige rybewys

Hostel Matron

The Vrystaat Nasorgsentrum is a registered NPO that cares for adult persons with intellectual disabilities. The Centre provides a safe residential and work environment to our beneficiaries. We currently have a vacant position available for a stay-in Hostel Matron.

Position requirements

Previous experience as a Hostel Matron and/or care giver in a similar environment (Old Age Home, Caring for persons with disabilities)
Matric qualification
The ability to work with adult persons with an intellectual disability
Recognised training as a Nurse or Care Giver (Diploma, Degree, Certificate)
A caring and compassionate personality
General experience in ensuring good house keeping and beneficiary care
The ability to work under pressure
Good command of both spoken and written English and Afrikaans (the ability to speak Sesotho will be an advantage)
A self-driven individual
The ability to lead and work in a team of Caregivers
Well organised and diligent in the ex*****on of duties
The willingness to work shifts and over weekends
The willingness to stay on the premises
Valid driver’s license
Valid police clearance

Receptionist/ Financial Admin Clerk

The Vrystaat Nasorgsentrum is a registered NPO that cares for adult persons with intellectual disabilities. The Centre provides a safe residential and work environment to our beneficiaries. We currently have a vacant position available for a Receptionist/Financial Admin Clerk.

Position Requirements

Matric qualification, a recognised secretarial/financial qualification will be an advantage
Ability to work with persons with intellectual disabilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Afrikaans (ability to speak Sesotho will be an advantage)
Excellent knowledge of computer programs (MS Word, Outlook, Excell and PowerPoint)
Excellent administrative and organising skills
Knowledge of Pastel accounting software
Experience in working in a secretarial, administrative or accounting environment
Skills in general office administration
Skills in budget administration
Experience in handling creditors and accounts
Assertiveness in managing diary schedules of the Director and Professional Team
Attention to detail and personal neatness, with strong meeting and event organising skills
High focus on integrity and confidentiality (value based decision making)
The ability to function independently and take pro-active measures to complete tasks
The ability to work as part of a team
Valid driver’s license
Valid police clearance
