After extensive facial surgery and the emotional, physical, and mental challenges that followed, Olivia brings a powerful perspective on courage, identity, healing, and life beyond diagnosis. As a registered nurse and someone celebrating 30 years with CANSA, Olivia will also share what her journey has taught her about hope, support, education, and walking alongside others affected by cancer.

Marcelle D’Allende, transformation & change manager and life coach, also shares her experience as a lung cancer Survivor.

Today, 23 May, is World Melanoma Day. ☀️🎗️

Melanoma may be less common than other skin cancers, but it is the most dangerous. Early detection can make all the difference!

CANSA encourages everyone to stay throughout the year by protecting your skin, doing monthly skin checks using the ABCDE guidelines, and arranging annual skin examinations with a doctor or dermatologist.

CANSA also offers skin screening tests through most CANSA Care Centres, including:
- Clinical Mole Analysis - this is when a trained, professional nurse clinically assesses a mole according to globally accepted ABCDE screening guide.
- FotoFinder Mole Analysis - this is an enhanced clinical mole analysis to detect suspicious moles via a FotoFinder (electronic device) that measures the risk profile of the mole. (FotoFinder machines roam between Care Centres so booking is essential).
