It was a true honour and privilege to work alongside the Mangaung Technical Vocational Centre during their Youth Day event on Monday, 15 June 2026.

One of the most valuable aspects of the day was listening to and hearing the hearts of our young people as they shared their perspectives on the challenges and gaps they experience within the education system.

Their voices, insights, and ideas deserved to be heard, acknowledged, and appreciated by all South Africans.

Our youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow—they are active contributors to the future we are building today. Creating spaces where they can openly express their thoughts, concerns, and aspirations is essential for meaningful growth and positive change.

Thank you to everyone who made this impactful day possible. Together, let us continue to empower, support, and invest in the future of our youth.

Today we remember the youth of 1976 who stood up, stepped out, and changed the course of our nation. They knew their destiny wasn’t something to wait for. It was something to claim.

To every young South African: Your voice is not too small. Your dream is not too big. Your moment is not “someday.” It is now.

Find it:
Your purpose lives in what keeps you awake at night and what gets you up in the morning. Listen to that fire. Education is your weapon. Character is your shield. Action is your path.

Live it:
Don’t just scroll through life. Show up for it. Build the business. Learn the skill. Serve your community. Challenge what’s wrong. Celebrate what’s right. The footprint you leave starts with the step you take today.

Lead it:
The future of Mzansi is not in the hands of government alone. It is in your hands, your choices, your courage. Be the generation that doesn’t just inherit South Africa, but heals it, grows it, and lifts it.

The class of ’76 marched so you could run. So run.

The St Bernard RCL at Camp Unity was an unforgettable experience filled with growth, learning, teamwork, and fun. Learners participated in exciting activities designed to develop essential life and leadership skills while creating lasting memories together.
Throughout the camp, learners focused on:
• Developing leadership skills
• Practicing effective communication
• Overcoming fear through challenges and team activities
• Building stronger listening skills
• Learning the value of teamwork and support
All of this took place in an atmosphere filled with fun, laughter, adventure, and meaningful connections, creating an experience that inspired learners to grow into confident and capable leaders.
