Learning Through Play with Tangible Africa at Kaelang Secondary School! 🎮🧠

Today, Blooming Buds Foundation (BBF) brought an exciting, hands-on learning experience to Kaelang Secondary School through the changemaker version of tangible games! 🎉

Tangible’s innovative approach makes coding fun, accessible and engaging, allowing learners to explore the world of technology through playful challenges that develop critical thinking, logical reasoning, problem-solving, creativity and teamwork. By using physical coding tokens to solve challenges, learners can experience the fundamentals of coding even without computers or internet access. 💡

Beyond coding, these games encourage learners to think strategically, collaborate with their peers and persevere when faced with challenges; essential skills for navigating an increasingly digital world. 🌐

At BBF, we believe that learning should inspire curiosity, unlock potential and equip young people with the skills to shape their futures. Today's experience demonstrated how play can become a powerful tool for learning, innovation and digital inclusion!

BEYOND PROUD OF OUR CHANGEMAKER!

What an incredible achievement for our Blooming Buds Foundation Changemaker from Kagisho Secondary School! 💙🤍

We are thrilled to celebrate him for being crowned 1st Prince (1st Runner-Up) – Miss & Mr Hope Free State 2026! 👑

This was so much more than a pageant. It was a beautiful platform focused on building confidence, encouraging teamwork, empowering young people, and reminding each other of the strength and potential within us.

As Blooming Buds Foundation, we have watched him grow, learn, participate and step outside his comfort zone as a Changemaker. Seeing him take that confidence onto such a big stage and shine is a moment we will always cherish.

To say we are proud is an understatement! We are BEYOND PROUD of you, champion! Your journey is a beautiful reminder that when young people are given the right support, encouragement and opportunities, they can truly soar.

Yesterday, the Vulamasango Changemakers turned silence into a powerful message.

In honour and remembrance of the women who were brutally murdered in Ekurhuleni, learners gathered during break time for a silent campaign, standing together against gender-based violence and femicide. Through their silence, they spoke loudly about the value of every woman's life and the urgent need to end the violence that continues to devastate families and communities across South Africa.

We remember the victims. We stand with their families. We refuse to let their stories be forgotten.

This is more than a moment of remembrance, it is a call for action!

To lawmakers and policymakers: strengthen the implementation of laws that protect women and girls, ensure accountability for perpetrators, and invest in prevention, support services, and community safety initiatives.

To men and boys: be part of the solution. Challenge harmful attitudes, speak out against violence, hold one another accountable, and help build a society where women and girls can live free from fear.

Enough is enough. Every woman deserves safety, dignity, and the right to live.

Fun was had, but the learning was serious!

On Friday, our MCN Changemakers and Changemaker Teachers at Vulamasango Secondary School took part in an exciting Changemaker Content Training focused on using their voices, creativity and digital skills to raise awareness about environmental protection. 🌍💚

From exploring how to create meaningful content to discussing the importance of protecting our environment, the Changemakers were equipped to turn their ideas into messages that can inform, inspire and mobilise their peers and communities.

Environmental action doesn’t always start with a big campaign; sometimes, it starts with one young person, one message and one decision to make a difference. 💪🏾

At BBF, we’re proud to support young people who are ready to create, educate and take action for a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable future. 🌍

Blooming Buds Foundation, through the Masifunde Change Network (MCN), successfully facilitated an Activation Workshop at Vulamasango Secondary School.

The workshop empowered young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become active changemakers within their school and community. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, learners explored the values of leadership, active citizenship, teamwork, and community engagement, while identifying key issues affecting their peers and developing practical solutions to address them.

We are inspired by the enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment displayed by the learners as they embraced their role as agents of positive change. Together, we are building a generation of young leaders who are passionate about creating safer, healthier, and more inclusive communities.

A sincere thank you to the management, educators, and learners of Vulamasango Secondary School for their warm welcome and active participation.

This week marked an exciting milestone as Blooming Buds Foundation officially launched the Changemaker Club at Kaelang Secondary School as part of the Masifunde Change Network Program.

The launch brought together passionate young leaders who are committed to creating positive change within their school and community. Through the Changemaker Club, learners will be empowered with leadership, active citizenship, volunteerism, advocacy, and social action skills to address issues affecting young people while promoting a culture of responsibility, inclusivity, and community engagement.

We are proud to support these young changemakers as they embark on a journey of learning, growth, and impact. We look forward to seeing the innovative projects and campaigns they will lead throughout the year to make Kaelang Secondary School and the broader community a better place for all.

Together, we are nurturing a generation of active citizens who are ready to lead, serve, and inspire change.
