Bainsvlei Inwonersforum is ‘n nie-winsgewende organisasie wat aktief is binne die hoewegebied van Bainsvlei, Groenvlei en Spitskop. Om dit te
bereik word deurlopende projekte van stapel gestuur wat gefokus is op, bv:
- misdaadbekamping – bv. oprig van kameranetwerk, oprig van waarskuwingsborde;
- veiligheid – 24/7 bystandspan, opgradering en uitbreiding van radionetwerk, ontbossing van paaie vir die veiligheid van voetgangers, fietsryers en motoriste ;
- kragnetwerk – sny van bome wat in die kragdrade ingroei; brandbestryding – veldbrande, struktuurbrande, opleiding van brandbeamptes, toerusting;
- medies – eerstehulp vir noodgevalle; hulp verlening met maatskaplike nood, ens om enkeles te noem. Al hierdie projekte het ten doel om Bainsvlei ‘n voorkeur-residensiële area te maak waar die inwoners sowel as die besighede in die gebied kan gedy. Dit gaan egter met kostes gepaard en benodig dikwels ook duur toerusƟng, wat befonds word met minimale ledegeld per huishouding en donasies van welwillende donateurs. Hoe meer mense ons hande vat, hoe vinniger groei die verskil wat ons maak, en saam met dit gemoedsrus en eiendomswaardes. Word deel van ‘n gemeenskap waar vreemdelinge vriende word, wat saamstaan. Bainsvlei Residents Forum is a non-profit organisation that is operational in the smallholding areas of Bainsvlei, Groenvlei and Spitskop. Our aim is to create a safe, clean, and flourishing environment that all residents can be proud of. To achieve this, continuous projects are launched which are focused on, e.g.:
- crime fighting – e.g., erecting a camera network, erecting warning signs;
- safety – 24/7 standby team, upgrading and expansion of our radio network, cutting back trees and shrubbery along the roads for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists;
- power grid – trimming of trees growing into the power lines;
- firefighting – veldfires, structure fires, training of fire officers, equipment;
- medical – first aid with emergencies; helping with social needs, etc. All these projects aim to make Bainsvlei a preferred residential area where the residents as well as the businesses in the area can thrive. It does, however, come with costs and often also requires expensive equipment, which is funded with minimal membership fees per household and donations from benevolent donors. The more people that take our hands, the faster the difference we are making will grow, and with it, peace of mind and property values.
