PUBLIC STATEMENT
Dear Members, Partners, and Supporters of the Bisho Youth Arts & Development Foundation,
It is with a mix of profound gratitude and great optimism for the future that I announce my decision to step down from my role as Executive Chairperson of the Bisho Youth Arts & Development Foundation.
Serving this incredible organization has been one of the most rewarding privileges of my life. Together, we have built a vibrant community that empowers our youth, celebrates our rich artistic heritage, and fosters meaningful development in Bisho and beyond. I am incredibly proud of everything our team, our volunteers, and, most importantly, our talented youth have accomplished during my tenure.

While I am stepping down from the day-to-day executive leadership, my dedication to our mission remains as strong as ever. Please know that I am not leaving the foundation. Rather, I am transitioning into a new phase of my journey with this community. I will remain actively involved behind the scenes, lending my ongoing support, guidance, and institutional knowledge to ensure the continued success of the organization and a seamless transition for the incoming leadership.

I want to express my deepest thanks to the board, our dedicated staff, our generous partners, and the young creatives who inspire us every single day. The foundation is in excellent hands, and I look forward to watching it continue to grow, innovate, and thrive from my new vantage point.

To our fellow South Africans,
Today, as we observe Human Rights Day, we stand together in deep reflection and solidarity. This day is a powerful reminder of the immense price paid for the freedoms we often take for granted. We remember the brave souls of 1960 who stood firm in their conviction, reminding us that dignity and equality are not privileges to be granted, but inherent rights for every human being.

For the Bisho Youth Arts & Development Foundation, this day holds a special significance. We believe that human rights are the very foundation upon which creativity and growth are built.
Our Shared Commitment
In the spirit of this day, we reaffirm our commitment to:

• Dignity through Expression: Ensuring every young person has the right to share their story and be heard through the arts.

•Equality in Opportunity: Breaking down barriers so that talent and hard work—not background or circumstance—determine a person's future.

• Community & Development: Building a society where the rights to education, safety, and personal growth are accessible to all.

A Call to the Next Generation
While we honor the sacrifices of our past, we must also look toward the responsibility of our future. Human rights are preserved through the everyday choices we make—the way we treat our neighbors, the way we protect the vulnerable, and the way we use our voices to speak up against injustice.

Let us continue to build a South Africa where "Human Rights" isn't just a phrase in our Constitution, but a lived reality in our streets, our homes, and our hearts.
