Celebrating Women. Honouring Strength. Inspiring Change.

On this National Women’s Day, Lekgutsa Mbele Foundation proudly joins South Africa in celebrating and honouring the remarkable women who continue to shape our families, communities, organisations and nation.

Today, we remember the courageous women who stood together on 9 August 1956, demonstrating that women have the power to challenge injustice, defend their rights and create meaningful change. Their courage remains an inspiration to every generation.

As the Lekgutsa Mbele Foundation, we recognise that empowering women is not only about celebrating their achievements—it is about creating opportunities, protecting their dignity, supporting their dreams and ensuring that every woman and girl has the freedom and resources to reach her full potential.

We salute the women who lead from the front, the mothers who raise families against all odds, the young women pursuing their education and careers, the entrepreneurs creating opportunities, the artists and cultural practitioners telling our stories, the community activists serving others, and every woman whose daily contribution makes our communities stronger.
