🏍️🐾 BETHAL SPCA’S FIRST-EVER BARKFAST RUN! 🐾🏍️ ONLY 38 DAYS TO GO. HELP US MAKE THIS OUR 1ST EVENT A SUCCESS.

📅 Saturday, 28 November 2026
📍 Bethal SPCA – Bethal, Mpumalanga
🎟️ Entry fee: R150 per rider

Calling all motorcyclists, motorcycle clubs and biking enthusiasts across Gauteng and beyond!

Bethal SPCA is calling on the biking community to join us for our very first Barkfast Run in aid of animal welfare! 🐶🐱

For only R150 per person, your entry includes a delicious breakfast and a cup of coffee. You get to enjoy a ride, meet fellow bikers, and, most importantly, make a difference in the lives of animals who depend on us.

📍 Why ride to Bethal?

We are approximately 100 kilometres from many Gauteng-based motorcycle clubs, making Bethal a worthwhile destination for a morning ride. Come enjoy the open road, the camaraderie of fellow motorcyclists, and the opportunity to support a cause that truly matters.

❤️ WE NEED AT LEAST 50 MOTORCYCLISTS TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS!

Bethal SPCA is a non-profit animal welfare organisation that relies heavily on public support to continue caring for abandoned, neglected, surrendered and unwanted animals. Every day, we face the financial demands of feeding, treating and sheltering animals who have nowhere else to turn.

Your participation is more than just a motorcycle ride. It is a contribution towards food, veterinary care, shelter and the daily needs of the animals in our care.

📢 PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!

Share this appeal with your motorcycle club.

Tell your biking friends and fellow riders.

Encourage your club to make Bethal the destination for your morning ride.

Confirm your support and help us reach our target of 50 motorcyclists!

Every rider counts. Every entry makes a difference. Every kilometre travelled brings hope to an animal in need.

🙏 We are putting our faith in the incredible biking community to come together and support our first Barkfest Run. Please help us make this inaugural event a success!

Ride for a reason. Ride for the animals. Ride for Bethal SPCA! 🏍️🐾

With sincere appreciation,

Inspector Ian Lombard 0846272069 and the staff of Bethal SPCA

🐾 BETHAL SPCA NEEDS YOUR HELP! — RUBBERISING OUR ANIMAL RESCUE VEHICLE 🐾

The Bethal SPCA’s Nissan NP300 canopy is currently being renovated and refurbished by Gear-tech, and we are incredibly grateful for the work being done to get our vehicle back into the best possible condition.

However, we urgently need assistance with new rubberising for the vehicle, at an estimated cost of R3,700.

Why is this so important? Our animal rescue vehicle is constantly used to collect animals and transport them to our kennels. We need to wash and disinfect the vehicle regularly to minimise the risk of spreading diseases into our kennels and putting the animals in our care at risk. Proper rubberising is essential to help us maintain the cleanliness and hygiene this work demands..

🙏 OUR APPEAL TO LOCAL BUSINESSES AND THE PUBLIC

Would a local business be willing to sponsor the rubberising, either fully or partially? If your business can assist by providing this service, we would be sincerely grateful.

📞 Please contact the Bethal SPCA office to make arrangements. We can bring the vehicle directly to your business for the work to be done.

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a difference to the animals who depend on us.

We are a small SPCA with a big responsibility, and we rely on the generosity and support of our community to keep our operations running.

💙 Please help us keep our rescue vehicle clean, hygienic and ready to serve the animals of Bethal.

🐾 Bethal SPCA — Because every animal deserves care, compassion and protection.

🐾 MEET COCO – LOOKING FOR A SECOND CHANCE AT HAPPINESS! 🐾❤️
Hello, everyone! My name is Coco, and I have just arrived at the SPCA, harness and all🐶
I’m a neutered Jack Russell/Ridgeback cross, and I’m a very friendly boy with lots of love to give. Sadly, my owner emigrated, and I was surrendered to the SPCA. Through no fault of my own, I now find myself in an unfamiliar environment, wondering where my next chapter in life will take me. 💔
Although I will try and still settling into my new surroundings, my biggest wish is to find an open, loving home with children and a family I can call my own. I want to be part of family life again, share in the fun, enjoy companionship, and give my new humans all the love a loyal dog can offer. 🏡❤️
Could you be the family I have been waiting for? Please don’t let my story end here at the SPCA. Come and meet me, get to know me, and perhaps discover that I’m the missing piece of your family!
🐾 HOW TO ADOPT COCO:
📍 Visit the SPCA and arrange a meet-and-greet with me.
🪪 Please bring your ID and proof of address.
📝 Complete an adoption application.
Strict adoption protocols will apply.
Please help me find my forever home by sharing my story. Someone out there might just be looking for a friendly chap like me!
Love and hopeful tail wags,
🐶 Coco ❤️

🐾🖤 MEET BLACK BEAUTY – YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND! 🖤🐾
Hello, everyone! My name is Black Beauty, a name lovingly given to me by the local community and the kind people who brought me to the Bethal SPCA as a stray.
I’m a young Great Dane girl with long legs, a big personality, and a heart overflowing with love! ❤️🐶 I’m boisterous, friendly, and full of youthful energy, just as a young girl should be!
Sadly, my owners have not come forward to claim me, and nobody has come looking for me. 💔 So, here I am, hoping and dreaming that somewhere out there is a family who will open their hearts and home to me.
Could that family be yours? 🏡🐾
I have so much love to give and would love nothing more than to grow up surrounded by kindness, care, and affection. I’m ready to leave my stray days behind and begin a beautiful new chapter with a family of my own.
🐾 WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADOPT BLACK BEAUTY?
Please visit the Bethal SPCA to meet and greet me. Remember to bring your ID and proof of address so that you can complete an adoption application in person. Strict adoption protocols will be followed.
🙏 Help the SPCA help me find a better life! Please share my story so that it reaches the family I have been waiting for.
One loving home. One new beginning. One beautiful girl waiting for her happily-ever-after. 🖤🐾

🐾👑 FROM FERAL CAT TO PRINCESS DUCHESS — A HAPPY ENDING! 👑🐾
Meet Princess Duchess! ❤️🐱
My story began when I was caught in a cat trap at a local business. I was a feral girl with a festering abscess, in need of urgent help. Thankfully, I was taken to the vet, where I received the care I needed. My ear was also notched, a common practice used to identify sterilised feral cats.
From there, I found myself at the Bethal SPCA, where I was supposed to be just another injured cat needing care. But sometimes, life has other plans! 🥹💕
Unbeknown to me, I had already crept into the hearts of the SPCA staff — and especially the heart of the lady who had reported me as an injured cat in the first place.
And today, something truly beautiful happened! ❤️
That very same lady returned to the Bethal SPCA, not to check on me, but to take me home as the newest member of her family! 🏡🐾
From a frightened feral girl caught in a trap to a much-loved princess with a home of her own, my journey has taken a wonderful turn.
To my new mommy, thank you for seeing something special in me, for opening your heart and home, and for giving me the opportunity to live life to the fullest. I may have started out as a stray, but today I am somebody's beloved Princess Duchess! 👑🐈
Sometimes, all it takes is one caring person to change an animal's entire world. Thank you for being mine, Mommy! ❤️
Happy tails and a beautiful new beginning, Princess Duchess! 🐾🏡
From all of us at the Bethal SPCA, thank you to everyone who cares enough to report an injured animal. You never know when that one phone call will be the beginning of a beautiful forever story.

💙 A HEARTFELT THANK YOU FROM THE BETHAL SPCA! 💙

The Bethal SPCA would like to express our sincere gratitude to Nick from Nicben Hydraulics and Cables, and Rheeder Van As, our SPCA vehicle repair man, who is always willing to lend a helping hand and assist our Society free of charge. 🐾🙏

Today, we experienced another mechanical problem with our Isuzu. A steel pipe in the fuel supply developed a hole, spraying diesel throughout the engine compartment and leaving our vehicle unable to continue driving.

Without hesitation, Reider stepped in and removed the damaged pipe. Nick kindly brazed the pipe, after which Reider refitted it at The SPCA and got our vehicle back on the road! 🚗🔧

AND THEN IT POURED, WITH OUR NISSAN NP300, ALSO NEEDING NEW BRAKE PADS. NEVER FEAR WHEN RHEEDER IS NEAR, AS HE FITTED THE PIPE ON OUR ISUZU AND DROVE OFF WITH OUR NISSAN TO FIT NEW BRAKE PADS. HE IS AN ABSOLUTE SCHOLAR AND GENTLEMAN

For a small Society like ours, every act of kindness, every helping hand, and every service rendered without charge makes a tremendous difference. Our vehicles are essential to our daily animal welfare duties, and getting them back on the road means we can continue responding to calls, rescuing animals, and making a difference in their lives.

Nick and Rheeder, thank you for your generosity, your time, your skills, and your continued support of the Bethal SPCA. Your willingness to assist us when we need it most does not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful to have people like you standing alongside us in our mission to protect animals.

From Inspector Ian Lombard and all the staff at the Bethal SPCA, THANK YOU! 💙🐶🐱

Together, we can make a difference

Here is the latest update from NUGGET'S mommy on her settling in and her progress so far.
We always appreciate feedback from the new parents on how the new addition is settling in.

Good afternoon, Ian.
I hope you are well.

Here's a Nugget update:
Her stitches are out and she went on her first walk on a leash this morning. We stopped every few meters to check the "pee-mail". There's lots to learn around here new home.
Sister Storm and her have adjusted well to each other. 🤍🖤 The initial jealousy and uncertainty had disappeared.
She follows us around, juat incase someone has a spare minute to dish out some cuddles and if you stop too soon, she'll nudge you for more. What a sweet and gentle girl. We adore her!

🐾❤️ HAPPY TAILS FOR LILA! ❤️🐾
After receiving her weekly dip, our beautiful Lila was collected and headed off to her forever home! 🏡🐶
But the best part? She has gone home to join Ivy, her Australian Cattle Dog sister, who was adopted just last week! ❤️
These two girls are now united under one roof, and we have a feeling there will be plenty of mischief, fun, and adventures in their future! 😂🐾
We are keeping our fingers crossed that their new family will share some follow-up videos with us so we can watch these two sisters settle in, bond, and enjoy their new lives together. 📹💕
Go well, Lila! You have found your family, your sister, and a place to call home. May your days be filled with love, happiness, and just the right amount of naughty sisterly mischief! 🐕❤️
From all of us at Bethal SPCA, we wish you and Ivy a lifetime of beautiful memories. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. 🐾💙
