This year is still as fresh as a dew drop. It is full of endless possibilities...but perhaps you feel anxious and uncertain about the year ahead full of challenges and expectations to meet. Maybe you are beginning your high school career and feel greener than a piece of broccoli! Perhaps the final exams are already giving you sleepless nights. You have such big hopes and dreams for this year but are afraid of failure and disappointment. 2 Tim 1-7 is like an anchor you can drop in the mid of this storm of uncertainty: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power...” A second anchor is Isaiah 41:10 “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” May you 2017 boat sail safely with God at the helm and these to anchors!

Die jaar is nog so vars soos ‘n doudruppel op die gras. Dit hou nog soveel moontlikhede in... maar dalk voel jy angstig en onseker oor die jaar wat voorlê vol groot uitdagings en eise wat aan jou gestel word. Dalk begin jy jou hoërskool loopbaan en voel jy groener as ‘n stuk broccoli! Dalk is dit die eindeksamen wat alreeds by jou begin spook. Jy het dalk soveel verwagtinge vir wat die jaar mag inhou, maar is bang vir teleurstelling en mislukking. 2Tim1:7 kan ons egter soos ‘n anker afgooi midde in die storm van onsekereheid "...God het ons nie ‘n gees van vreesagtigheid gegee nie, maar van krag..." ‘n Tweede anker is Jesaja 41:10 “Wees nie bevrees nie, want Ek is met jou; kyk nie angstig rond nie, want Ek is jou God. Ek versterk jou, ook help Ek jou, ook ondersteun Ek jou met my reddende regterhand”. Mag jou 2017 bootjie veilig vaar met God aan die stuur en jou twee ankers!

It happens so quickly, so easily and so unnecessarily... and without you even looking for it: getting into a conflict situation with your teacher! Is it so wrong to disagree with their point of view? It isn't as if they don't make mistakes! They can't always be right! Right?

Firstly, most of the time the problem isn't that you disagree but how you disagree... The first thing to do would be to acknowledge that you're wrong, if you're wrong. If your argument has grounds, then choose the right timing and place - which definitely wouldn't be when one of you is angry, irritated or frustrated. And deciding to give your teacher a piece of your mind right there and then in front of the class, definitely is not a good idea! Ask if you could see your teacher during break to discuss the issue. If you can't resolve it, talk to your grade head or subject head.

A good idea would be to come to your teacher with two or three points that you would like to discus. It would be even better if you have your arguments ready to staff your point and a possible solution for your disagreement. But even more important than this is to keep the first rule to conflict resolution in mind. You must be willing to listen with the intend to understand and not with the intend to think of what to say next.

Your relationship with your teacher is one of the most influential relationships in your life. Having a good relationship with your teacher can help you grow and become more of the person you are meant to be. They help turn your dreams into reality. Treat them with the necessary respect and you'll be surprise how they warm up to you!

Gemeenskapsprojek: wat n dag! Dinge nie heeltemal uitgewerk soos beplan nie maar het nie te min baie geleer. Maak volgende naweek klaar. Dankie v almal wat gehelp het! Daar sal altyd opsticles wees maar dis hoe ons om of oor dit kom....

Ons beplan solank vir ons gemeenskapsprojek en het 'n instansie geidentifiseer wat 'n hawe vir gestremde kinders en grootmense is. Hulle kort 'n paar goed.Ons wil graag as 'n groep die geboue bietjie opknap met 'n nuwe laag verf. Ons benodig plus minus 120 liter verf (van dieselfde kleur) Sal wardeer as iemand ons daarmee kan help. Hier is hulle wenslys. Enige bydra sal 'n groot verskil kan maak. Sal sodra ons verdere inligting het dit deurgee. ;) Vriendelike groete!

Goeie middag almal! Het 'n vreeslik lekker git gehad die naweek wat verby is. Maropeng en die Sterkfontein grotte was 'n fees! Dit word nou wel die wieg van die mensdom genoem maar die wieg van elke mens is in God se hart - waar Sy plan droom vir elkeen van ons begin het. We realized that no one is an accident and that He knew (and loved) each and everyone of us even before we were born. In Jeremiah He tells us in no uncertain terms that He has a plan for us, a plan to prosper. In Psalms word ons vertel dat ons op 'n wonderbaarlike wyse geskep is (139:14) "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
