*BCPF Community Appeal for Information*

The BCPF is appealing to the community for any information or dashcam
footage that could help identify those responsible for a life lost too soon
on the morning of Friday, 14 August.

*Time frame:* Between 6:40am and 7:00am

*Location:* The R24, in both directions, between Eastgate and Gillooly's -
including on, near, or under the bridge and surrounding areas.

We're asking anyone who was in the area during this time to come forward,
whether or not what you saw seems significant. This includes cars passing
by, pedestrians walking to work, or anything else you may have noticed. No
detail is too small.

All information received will be handed to the SAPS Detective Department, in
the hope that it leads to the arrest of those responsible.

Dear Bedfordview

As we all deal with the devastating news of a fatal incident where a rock was thrown off a bridge and resulted in the loss of life, we are reaching out to you on behalf of the Bedfordview Community Policing Forum (BCPF), in collaboration with our dedicated partners, to request your support for an important community safety initiative.

Our community has benefited greatly from our collaborative efforts in resurrecting the Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) camera networks originally commissioned in 2016. This partnership has significantly contributed to the safety and security of our neighbourhood, and we are proud of what we have accomplished together.

In our continued efforts to enhance community security, we are now looking to expand this partnership by installing and monitoring cameras specifically focused on our bridges. These cameras are vital for detecting and deterring loitering and suspicious activities, thus ensuring that our community remains a safe and welcoming environment for all residents.

To make this project a success, we are seeking donations that will go directly towards the purchase and installation of these community cameras. Your generous support will not only aid in the procurement of the necessary technology but will also reinforce the ongoing maintenance and monitoring efforts.
