Bedfordview CPF and SAPS proudly reaffirm their unwavering dedication and commitment to making Bedfordview a safer and more secure community.

With the support and collaboration of SAPS station Bedfordview, and under the leadership of the newly elected Bedfordview Exco, we continue to actively fight crime and enhance community safety.

We are proud to have achieved, for the first time, a second runner-up position for the Excellence Award in Vispol and to be recognized as the Operations Team of the Year for the Ekurhuleni district — a testament to the hard work and partnership shared with SAPS.

Our shared passion drives us to make a meaningful difference, and we are committed to serving our community with renewed dedication.

Special thanks to Col Mathiane and his team for their committment in making our station efficient and effective which has made significant turnaround in their approach and ethics. We are proud as a community to have a leader with his knowledge and passion leading his team in support of our CPF structure.

A heartfelt thank you to all stakeholders, participants, and especially to SAPS for their exceptional service, unwavering commitment, and willingness to go that extra mile in prioritizing community safety.

We encourage everyone in our community to join us in supporting this vital mission and to continue working together towards a safer Bedfordview.

The BCPF would like to thank all those who have donated water, drinks and snacks to our patrollers at Spar and dropped off at RAG. The donation greatly assists our local CPF patrollers as well as our guests from neighbouring communities. Thank you to SPAR Bedfordview for always assisting with our collection point.

Dear Bedfordview Community and Stakeholders,

It has been a long journey since the election of the interim and new committee, and together, we have taken meaningful steps toward strengthening the Bedfordview CPF. With a dedicated team of colleagues and partners, our goal remains clear: to put the safety and well-being of our community first.

Over the past six months, we have worked closely with Bedfordview SAPS, our security partners, and other role players to promote safety in our area. This partnership has enabled Bedfordview to be recognised as one of the best-performing policing stations in the district, with crime statistics among the lowest in Ekurhuleni. We are proud of this achievement and grateful to all who have contributed.

Another project worth the compliment is our continued work with our LPR partners in the re establishment of the LPR camera project. We thank BHT BSG P&C and RAG for their commitment and funding of this critical mission making our cameras in Bedfordview functional in fighting crime.

On top of this, our CPF patrollers, often headed and joined by our executive members, from Sectors 1, 2, and 3 dedicate their time—often late into the night, in challenging and sometimes dangerous conditions—to serve and protect our community. Many do so without basic safety gear, such as reflective jackets or bulletproof vests, yet they continue their work with commitment and courage.

Beyond patrolling, we have also been able to extend care to the vulnerable members of our community, such as donating blankets to children’s and old age homes during Mandela Month in partnership with Bedford Centre and Bedfordview SAPS. These initiatives reflect the heart of our community at work.

While much has been accomplished, we can not succeed alone. We need your continued support and active engagement. Contributions, whether through donations of safety equipment (such as bulletproof vests, torches, and reflective gear), or food and drink supplies via the Bedfordview Spar CPF trolley, directly help us to keep our patrollers safe and cared for while they safeguard Bedfordview.

Equally important is maintaining a united front with our neighbouring CPFs. Crime prevention works best when we support each other, and your contributions also strengthen these essential partnerships.

On behalf of the Bedfordview CPF, we thank you sincerely for your past support and encourage you to stay connected with us as we continue building a safer, stronger community. Together, we can ensure that Bedfordview remains one of the safest areas in our district.

With appreciation,

Bedfordview CPF Exco

‼️RAG CRIME WARNING‼️
Vehicle thefts are again increasing in our neighbourhood. Criminals in Bedfordview are targeting one of South Africa’s highest risk vehicles, the Ford Ranger. RAG Security (Residents Action Group) urges owners of Ford Rangers and other high-risk vehicles to invest in TWO tracking devices. RAG recommends the following vehicle security measures:

✅Sigfox recovery unit
✅HaltLock
✅Ghost Anti-Theft System
✅Putting your key into a Faraday pouch – this has a special lining that blocks the keyless entry signal, stopping thieves from using a device to intercept the signal and open your car

The latest statistics show that these are vehicles with the highest theft and hijacking risk in South Africa:
▪️Toyota Hilux
▪️Volkswagen Polo
▪️Toyota Fortuner
▪️Ford Ranger
▪️Hyundai i20

If your car is stolen, you have best chance of recovering it if the theft is reported on the right channels as quickly as possible. Alert RAG or your security service provider immediately! Call the RAG Control Centre on 082 322 3333 or post the details on the Emergency WhatsApp Group for RAG members. Provide the time and location as well as the vehicle make, model, colour and registration number.

Let’s work together to proactively fight crime. If you spot anything suspicious, call it in immediately! Don’t wait! Don’t wonder! Call the RAG 24-hour Control Centre on 082 322 3333 or 011 455 7022
