Did you know?
Any individual can represent an employee at the CCMA.
CCMA Rule 25 provides for an application to be submitted, carefully explaining the reasons why such representation is needed.
For the Commissioner to consider such representation, the following factors are important:
1. Public interest
2. Complexity of the case
3. Legal matters of the case
4. Compatibility of the parties
The Commissioner will make a ruling; however, ensure the process is handled in accordance with CCMA Rule 31.
Note that any party making use of Rule 25, who is not a legal professional, is not allowed to charge any fee for such services.
If any employee is part of a registered trade union, a Rule 25 application is not necessary.
Trade unions and employer organisations have an automatic right to represent at the CCMA.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.
SOON Karoo Workers Trade Union WILL MAKE A VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.
