Today is International Working Animal Day 🐴🫏 A day very close to my heart.

Every week we meet donkeys and horses who work incredibly hard to support their families. They pull carts, carry loads, transport water, help people earn an income and, in many cases, are the only reason a family is able to put food on the table.
They don’t get to choose their circumstances.

Some are loved and well cared for. Others are struggling, injured, hungry or exhausted. But every single one of them deserves kindness, compassion and access to veterinary care.

We are privileged to work alongside these amazing animals and the communities who depend on them. Whether it’s a cart horse in Thaba ’Nchu or a donkey in Makhanda, each one has a story, and each one matters.

Today we’re celebrating the quiet heroes who work tirelessly every day, often without recognition.

Thank you to every horse, donkey and mule who helps carry the weight of the world. ❤️

And thank you to everyone who supports our work, making it possible for us to be there when these animals need us most. If you would like to donate to help us continue our work in these communities, donations can be made via PayPal at paypal.Me/BlindLove or directly into our bank Acc at FNB business acc, Blind Love Acc no. 62457708413

🇿🇦🐴 Building Trust, Healing Lives: Working Equines in South Africa 🐴🇿🇦

In Thaba ’Nchu, Botshabelo, and the Eastern Cape, AAA and our partner Blind Love are transforming the welfare of working horses and donkeys through veterinary care, humane equipment, and owner education.

✨ March Impact
- 134 horses treated for parasites, saddle sores, wounds, and harness injuries.
- 68 donkeys reached with parasite control, hoof trimming, wound care, and vaccinations.
- Humane harnesses distributed, reducing injuries from poor equipment.
- Community trust growing, with owners bringing animals daily for minor care at the Care Stations.

💡 Stories of resilience:
- Coat the horse, feared to have African Horse Sickness, recovered after colic treatment.
- Percy the donkey, retired to sanctuary after a fractured leg, now safe thanks to the new Equine Ambulance.

🌍 Global Impact Made Possible by You
Every outreach day, every harness distributed, and every rescue reflects AAA’s mission: turning burden into care and proving that local partnerships are the key to global change. Together, we’re building a South Africa where working equines live with compassion, dignity, and lifelong protection. 💛
