Jinda Children's home

Jinda Children's home Jinda Home of Safety is a registered NGO (article 21 company) situated in the north eastern province of Mpumalanga in South Africa.

Jinda’s primary function is the care and placement of AIDS orphans into a stable and loving family environment. Each home is headed by a foster mother who has been carefully selected and screened by a registered and qualified Social Worker. The children and mothers are monitored by Jinda on a daily basis, keeping in touch with all aspects of their progress and wellbeing. Jinda currently consists o

f:

- a children’s village of 12 houses, capable of comfortably housing up to 60 children
- a crèche/day-care centre
- pre-school
- soup kitchen

Many of the houses are in desperate need of renovation and are not yet ready to be lived in. There is also no hot water in the village, and the need for a full time social worker dedicated to this organisation is becoming more apparent. Read more on our website: www.jinda.org.za
