Our very first Vejayanthran Education Fund scholar has officially graduated from UCT — and is now a fully employed teacher in the Western Cape. 👩🏾‍🏫🇿🇦

From a single-parent household surviving on less than R5,000/month…
to a qualified Mathematics & Sciences teacher with a permanent job.

Meet Tshepiso Bogacwi – Our First Fully Funded Candidate Fellow (R100,000)

Because of our amazing donors, Tshepiso Bogacwi is now studying her PGCE at the University of Cape Town, fully funded by VEF.

Tshepiso, a BSc Chemical Science graduate from UWC, has a deep passion for teaching Mathematics and Science, two of the most critical and in-demand subjects in South African schools. Raised by her grandparents, she has faced financial challenges, but her determination to inspire and uplift young minds has never wavered.

Now, with your support, she is on her way to becoming a world-class educator, ready to shape the future of countless learners. She is proof that when we invest in teachers, we invest in generations of students to come.

Happy 2025!

We are truly amazed by your kindness and support.

This year marks an exciting milestone as our very first scholarship student begins their journey! We are currently in the process of screening applicants and can’t wait to announce the inaugural scholarship recipient at the end of this month.

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised $5,399.68 so far, which means our first student is fully funded! We’re now actively fundraising for our second student, with $399.68 already raised toward the $5,000 goal.
