WEDNESDAY HERITAGE FEATURE | CELEBRATING OUR CULTURE 🌿

This Heritage Month, we celebrate the traditions and cultural practices that connect us to our roots and shape who we are.

Today, we proudly feature our colleague Minenhle Phakathi as she celebrated her beautiful Umhlonyane Ceremony.

May we continue to honour, preserve and celebrate our diverse cultures and traditions. Our heritage is our identity, our pride and our legacy.

TEAM BUILDING | LEARNING | GROWTH

Yesterday, the Adams Mission Community SOS Centre (AMCSC) team came together for an impactful Team Building and Capacity-Building Session, facilitated by from I Can Solutions.

The session was more than just team building, it was an opportunity to reflect, learn, strengthen our organisation and equip our team with knowledge that will support our continued growth and impact in the community.

📌 Session 1: Growth Imperative
We explored the importance of organisational growth, continuous improvement and developing a mindset that enables both individuals and organisations to move forward.

📌 Session 2: Building a Strong Organisation
We focused on two important pillars:
Pillar 1 – Fundability & Market Access: Understanding how organisations can strengthen their ability to access funding, opportunities and markets.
Pillar 2 – Operational Excellence: Looking at the systems, processes and practices needed to operate effectively and deliver quality services.

📌 Session 3: Operational Excellence
The final session further emphasised the importance of strong internal systems, teamwork, accountability and efficient operations in achieving sustainable organisational impact.

🤝 At AMCSC, we believe that investing in our team is investing in the future of our community.

A big thank you to Mr Yanga Nqenqa and I Can Solutions for sharing valuable knowledge, insights and practical guidance with our team.

Together, we continue to Cultivate Innovate and Impact Lives

AMCSC SUPPORTS THE FIGHT AGAINST CHILD & TEEN PREGNANCIES

On 5 August 2026, Adams Mission Community SOS Centre (AMCSC) was honoured to be invited to participate in the Child and Teen Pregnancies Curbing Strategy Implementation Programme held at Zenzele Sports Ground, Nsimbini Area.

The programme brought together stakeholders to engage on child and teenage pregnancies, learner pregnancies, and HIV, TB and STI prevention, while strengthening collaboration and ensuring that young people have access to accurate information and youth-friendly support services.

As part of the programme, our AMCSC Chairperson, Ntuthuko Maphumulo, delivered a message of support on behalf of Adams Mission Community SOS Centre. His contribution reaffirmed our commitment to supporting initiatives that protect, empower and create a brighter future for young people in our communities.

🤝 At AMCSC, we believe that protecting young people requires all of us, families, schools, community organisations, government and young people themselves, to work together.

We appreciate the opportunity to stand alongside other stakeholders in promoting awareness, prevention, support and positive choices among adolescents and young people.

💚 Together, we can build safer, healthier and stronger communities.

📸 Community Outreach | Child Protection Week 💙

Recently, as part of Child Protection Week, our Social Worker, through the Social Cohesion Portfolio at Adams Mission Community SOS Centre, joined Siyakha Organisation in facilitating a substance abuse awareness session at Josephine Makhanya Sport School of Excellence.

The session empowered learners with valuable knowledge about the dangers of substance abuse, the importance of making positive life choices, and protecting their future. We are proud to collaborate with organisations that share our commitment to creating safe, informed, and empowered communities for our children.

Together, we continue to educate, protect, and inspire the next generation.

Monday Motivation

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a safe, supportive, and drug-free environment. Through education, awareness, and community partnerships, we can empower young people to make positive choices that shape a brighter future.

As we reflect on our recent substance abuse awareness session at Josephine Makhanya Sport School of Excellence, in collaboration with Siyakha Organisation during Child Protection Week, we are reminded that protecting our children starts with empowering them through knowledge.

Let's begin this week by inspiring, educating, and uplifting the next generation, because today's guidance creates tomorrow's leaders.

📸 Event Highlights | Grow at Your Own Pace 🌱

Last week, Adams Mission Community SOS Centre, through our Social Cohesion Portfolio, proudly commemorated the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by hosting the Grow at Your Own Pace programme.

We were honoured to welcome learners from Adams Senior Primary School and Josephine Makhanya Sport School of Excellence, who participated in a day filled with learning, teamwork, and fun. Learners competed in educational indigenous games designed to promote healthy lifestyles, critical thinking, teamwork, and the importance of making positive, drug-free choices.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement, laughter, and friendly competition as learners showcased their skills while building meaningful connections. To celebrate their participation and commitment, all learners received Certificates of Participation in recognition of their enthusiasm and involvement.

A heartfelt thank you to our participating schools, educators, stakeholders, and partners for making this event a memorable success. Together, we continue to empower young people, strengthen social cohesion, and build communities where every child can grow at their own pace.

🌱 Every young person grows at their own pace—but every positive choice matters.
