On Saturday morning, at 09h00, the Alberton Lions and Friends of the Lions came together for a wonderful morning of teamwork and service, packing over 100 food parcels generously donated to Tutela.

These food parcels will help Tutela provide much-needed food to the children and families supported through their various community projects.

The Alberton Lions are proud to commit to this initiative twice a year, helping ensure that these families receive support when they need it most. Every parcel packed is a reminder that a little kindness and a lot of teamwork can make a meaningful difference in our community.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who gave up their Saturday morning to lend a helping hand. Your enthusiasm and teamwork made this the fastest food parcel packing session in our history -7 minutes!

Today, the Alberton Lions Club delivered Mommy Care Bags to 16 new mommies at South Rand Hospital, spreading love, kindness and a little extra joy during such a special time in their lives. 💕

A huge thank you to Lions Wendy, Darchelle and Sandra, who did a wonderful job handing out these lovingly packed care bags. Each bag was filled with baby toiletries, nappies and special baby goodies, including adorable jerseys and cosy blankets. 🍼👶🧸

The new mommies were delighted to receive their special gifts, each accompanied by a beautiful handmade card with warm wishes and congratulations as they begin their precious journey of motherhood. 💌💗

Sometimes, the smallest gestures make the biggest difference. We hope these little bundles of love bring comfort, happiness and a beautiful start to life with their newborn babies. 🌸

This week, our wonderful Lions Grace and Virasha delivered fresh fruit and vegetables to Luvies, Little Stars and Vivian’s Creches.

It was heartwarming to see the happy little faces light up as we arrived at the schools! These special moments remind us how much even the simplest acts of kindness can mean to our little ones.

Snooker Associations Cue Up Support for Alberton Lions Club

Local cue sports and community service came together in a remarkable display of generosity as the Gauteng Snooker Association and Central Gauteng Snooker Association joined forces with the Alberton Lions Club to raise funds and collect food for those in need.

During the recent Faraad James Classic tournament, event organizers collaborated with the Alberton Lions Club to host a non-perishable food drive.

Players and spectators generously chipped in, gathering non-perishable food items valued at approximately R1,000 to assist local families.

The spirit of giving didn't end with the food drive. Building on their community outreach efforts:

- Gauteng Snooker Association donated R1,500 raised from a recently held billiards tournament.
- Central Gauteng Snooker Association, fresh off a stellar performance in Cape Town where they finished as runners-up at the South African Inter-Provincial Tournament, chose to pay forward their success by donating their entire R1,500 prize money to the Alberton Lions Club.
- Generous individual players participating in the Faraad James Classic also stepped up, donating R400 of their personal winnings toward the cause.

In total, the combined efforts generated R3,400 in direct financial contributions alongside a substantial supply of essential food provisions for the Alberton Lions Club's ongoing community outreach projects.

"We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to Munier Cassim, Chairman of the Gauteng Snooker Association, and Faraad James, Chairman of the Central Gauteng Snooker Association, as well as every player who selflessly contributed their prize money and support," said Mukesh Dayah from Alberton Lions Club.
"Acts of kindness like these enable us to continue making a tangible difference in our community."
