19 May 2026 Predestined2Help FoodParcel Delivery Day sponsored by SALICT.

Predestined2Help NPO, sponsored by SALICT, has delivered groceries to 7 families in Eden Park, marking the third delivery of their food parcels. We appreciate SALICT's ongoing support, which has enabled these 7 families to receive food parcels on a monthly basis for the this year. Above all we thank our heavenly Father who enables us to serve.

We are trying to provide assistance to those in need, even if it means supporting just one household at a time. Our initial goal was to aid 20 families, but our sponsor's resources allowed us to support only 7 households.

We encourage potential sponsors to reach out to us if they are interested in providing food parcels to the remaining 13 families who we could not help. Although we do not have the capacity to feed every household, we are trying to help those we can.

Kids who assisted with distribution. We provided for 300+ kids and adults today. We give God all the glory for granting us the strength to serve our Eden Park community.

In South Africa, Workers’ Day represents both a celebration of labor rights and a reminder of resistance against systemic oppression.The Anti-Apartheid Struggle: Before 1994, trade unions were central to the liberation movement.

1 May was frequently used as a day to rally workers and demonstrate against apartheid laws.1986 COSATU Call: In 1986, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Haymarket Affair, the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) called for a nationwide strike. More than 1.5 million workers stayed home, effectively making it an unofficial public holiday.

Official Recognition (1994):
Following the end of apartheid, the new democratic government declared May 1st an official public holiday, first celebrated as such in 1995.Significance in South Africa.

Commemoration:
It honors the sacrifices made by workers and trade unions for fair labor practices and democratic freedoms.Solidarity: It strengthens worker solidarity and highlights the need to combat unemployment and uphold worker dignity in a democratic society.
