Die Gouritz rivier styg steeds en die kleiner riviertjies en stroompies wat die Bon Game Reserve parkrun roete kruis, is propvol!
Daar is tans géén kans om die roete oop te verklaar vir parkrun nie, omdat die grootste gedeelte totaal onder water is.

Maar.............

Watch this space! Waar daar 'n wil (en gretige parkrunners) is, is daar dalk spoedig 'n weg!

Geniet die parkrun môre op al die plekke waar julle deelneem. Ons sien julle weer een van die dae hier by Bon Game Reserve, waar die veld en omgewing tans ongelooflik mooi is.

The river is flowing, the pizzas are hot, and the wine is waiting. 🍷🍕

After the recent rains, the Gouritz River has burst its banks once again, transforming the reserve into a beautiful winter landscape.

Take a drive, come see the river for yourself, and stop in at Barney Barnato Restaurant for one of our wood-fired pizzas. We'll even include a complimentary glass of house wine.

Sometimes the best weekends are the simple ones.

Bon Game Reserve parkrun is unfortunately still canceled due to the route damage that has occurred because of the heavy rains in early May.

Baie modder.... baie nat... baie werk.... nog geen kans vir parkrun nie. 😢
Gelukkig is die Bon Game Reserve span uitstekend en ons sien uit daarna om binnekort weer te kan
parkrun.

Bon Game Reserve parkrun update, 21 May 2026:

Management and staff at Bon Game Reserve are working tirelessly to repair the damage caused by the recent heavy rains in the area.

For now, the Bon Game Reserve parkrun remains cancelled. We are as eager as all of you to get started again, but the safety of all parkrunners, as well as the wellbeing of the Bon Game Reserve are currently the #1 priority.

Wherever you parkrun on Saturday - enjoy it!

Groot gedeeltes van die parkrun roete is nog onbereikbaar a.g.v. water en modder. Die gedeeltes wat bereik kan word, het baie dik en sagte modder.

😢 BON GAME RESERVE PARKRUN IS CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO DAMAGE INCURRED BY THE RECENT HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE AREA.

OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH RESERVE MANAGEMENT IN THEIR EFFORTS TO ADDRESS THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE STORM.
