At Green Empowerment for Development (GEFD), we are excited to partner with Bayt El-Maarifa International Academy to invite you to our upcoming free webinar on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We will be exploring how to shift from working in silos to adopting a truly integrated approach to sustainability. The session will cover the core pillars of the SDGs, their interconnections, and practical examples of good practices. The webinar will be led by our key speaker, Prof. Dr. Furat Al-Faraj.

هل لا يزال قطاع البيئة في منظماتنا مجرد "نشاط ثانوي"؟ 🌍

​بالأمس، أحيينا لعام 2026 تحت شعار "مستوحى من الطبيعة: من أجل المناخ.. من أجل مستقبلنا". كعاملين في القطاع التنموي والإنساني، يجب أن ندرك حقيقة لغة المانحين اليوم: العمل المناخي لم يعد قطاعاً مستقلاً نلتفت إليه في المناسبات، بل هو "العدسة" التي يجب أن نرى من خلالها كل مشاريعنا.

​سواء كنا نكتب مقترحات لقطاع الأمن الغذائي، أو المياه والإصحاح البيئي (WASH)، أو سبل العيش والتنمية الاقتصادية؛ فإن المانحين الدوليين يوجهون بوصلة التمويل نحو التدخلات التي تتبنى "الحلول القائمة على الطبيعة" (Nature-Based Solutions) وتبني مرونة المجتمعات الهشة تجاه التغير المناخي.

​وفي منظمة التمكين الأخضر للتنمية (GEFD)، نأخذ هذا التحول الاستراتيجي بجدية تامة. وبصفتنا منظمة تقودها النساء (WLO)، نضع "الاحتواء الأخضر" (Green Inclusion) في صميم تدخلاتنا في تعز، عدن، حضرموت، ومأرب. لقد وجهنا 80% من مواردنا نحو مشاريع الاستعادة البيئية والزراعية، ونجسد ذلك حالياً من خلال برنامجنا التدريبي الزراعي المبتكر الذي يستهدف المزارعات الريفيات. عبر الاستفادة من التكنولوجيا (عبر تطبيق واتساب)، نعمل على بناء قدراتهن لتبني ممارسات زراعية مستدامة وقادرة على الصمود أمام التغير المناخي، مما يضمن الأمن الغذائي لمجتمعاتهن.
​الاستجابة لنداء الحملة العالمية لهذا العام لا تتحقق فقط بالاحتفالات، بل عبر خطوات مؤسسية جادة وتدخلات ملموسة على الأرض مثل
:
1️⃣ تضمين "تحليل المخاطر المناخية" (Climate Risk Assessment) بشكل قياسي في جميع مقترحات المشاريع.
2️⃣ التحول نحو المشتريات الخضراء وسلاسل الإمداد المستدامة في العمليات اللوجستية للمنظمة.
3️⃣ بناء شراكات استراتيجية للوصول إلى "التمويل المناخي" (Climate Finance) كأولوية قصوى.
​الكوكب يرسل إشارات عاجلة، والمانحون يوجهون التمويل لمن يدرك هذه الحقيقة ويدمجها في صميم تصميمه البرامجي. هل مؤسستك جاهزة لهذا التحول الاستراتيجي؟

A heartfelt thank you to Microsoft Elevate Skills, EY GDS, and the organizing team for this exceptional 2-day virtual event covering "Ethics and Bias in AI" and "AI Foundation for NGOs."

This training has added tremendous strategic value to our organization. As a Women-Led Organization (WLO) committed to environmental sustainability, agricultural restoration, and community empowerment across Taiz, Aden, Hadramout, and Marib, integrating AI tools into our operations will empower us to:

This Eid al-Adha, Green Empowerment for Development (GEFD) worked to translate the true spirit of solidarity into a tangible reality for our children.
We implemented a modest yet highly impactful initiative designed to blend joy with essential care through two main interventions:

🎁 Creating Joy (Psychosocial Support): Distributing toys to orphaned children, ensuring they experience the happiness and celebration of Eid.

🏥 Sustainable Care (Health & Rehabilitation): Covering the costs of crucial physical therapy and rehabilitation sessions for children with disabilities, ensuring their right to continuous, uninterrupted healthcare.

Every child deserves to experience the joy of Eid with health and dignity. We remain committed to leaving a positive, lasting impact on our community.

Strengthening Our Institutional Capacity: Towards More Efficient and Inclusive Humanitarian Action

We, at Green Empowerment for Development (GEFD), are pleased to announce the successful completion of a specialized training program conducted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

This initiative is a significant step in our commitment to enhancing our team's proficiency in protection and field-based humanitarian work, strictly aligned with international standards. The training focused on core protection mechanisms and innovative service delivery, which directly strengthens our operational capability. This is especially vital for our women-led initiatives, such as the "Community Kitchen Project" in Ma’rib, ensuring our operations are robust and impactful.

This training underscores our alignment with the 2026 Humanitarian Reset agenda, ensuring that our field operations are fully compliant with international protection standards and demonstrating our commitment to the locally-led humanitarian response model.
