Spark-Yemen

Spark-Yemen SPARK develops higher education and entrepreneurship to empower young, ambitious people to lead their conflict affected societies into prosperity.

Founded in 1994, SPARK, an international NGO based in the Netherlands, has 21 operating offices in Southeast Europe, the Middle East and Africa. SPARK aims to develop higher education and entrepreneurship to empower young, ambitious people to lead their conflict-affected societies into prosperity. In many countries in which SPARK operates, agricultural development has been identified as the main e

ngine for combating poverty and hunger. SPARK's private sector development programmes, especially its Agri-Business Creation (ABC) projects, have presented practical responses to unemployment, inequality and poverty in conflict-affected societies. SPARK first established its presence in Yemen in 2012. Since then, SPARK has delivered projects to support food security and livelihoods. In particular, these projects have focused on agribusiness creation, value-chain development, women's economic empowerment and youth participation. In Yemen SPARK works towards three main objectives: strengthening local capacity, supporting job creation and enterprise development.
