In a successful urban experiment demonstrating efficient field management under the harshest conditions, SFD continues to implement a sanitation project in the Haran neighborhood building on the community contracting mechanism. This 700 meter long project worth €65,000, funded by the & , to serve 404 people.
Despite the challenges, 7 heavy machines operate simultaneously and smoothly while adhering to quality and safety standards. The project has defied the difficult rocky terrain previously avoided by all development entities.

The massive steel roof of the large-scale water reservoir under construction in Al-Barzakh , is being successfully completed by the Social Fund for Development, marking a major milestone in strengthening and improving water services across half of the city.
With a storage capacity of 18,000 m3, the reservoir is expected to help ease water shortages for 600K residents. Work continues steadily under high quality standards.

With profound sorrow and deep regret, the Social Fund for Development (SFD) mourns the loss of Mr. Wesam Qaid, Deputy Managing Director, who was tragically assassinated in Aden City.

The late Mr. Qaid made distinguished contributions to development efforts and the improvement of livelihoods.
The SFD expresses its deep shock at this grievous loss and extends its heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies to his esteemed family, praying that Allah grants him His vast mercy and bestows patience and solace upon his loved ones. The SFD also calls on the relevant authorities to swiftly identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Amid Yemen’s prolonged humanitarian and food crisis, efforts are increasingly focused on empowering vulnerable communities with the means to withstand daily challenges moving beyond short-term aid toward sustainable .
Thru , villagers of Beit AlSuraimi & Dar Khalban villages, Al-Bayda, are actively engaged in rehabilitating agricultural terraces, improving rural access roads and setting up Village Saving and Loans Association .

The impact goes beyond providing temporary income to helping to restore agricultural land and productivity, strengthen local food production, and improve access to water sources and markets. By reconnecting people to their land, the project supports more stable and dignified in one of ’s most fragile settings.

This initiative is part of the Food Security Resilience Response Project in Yemen , funded by World Bank Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan & Pakistan thru UNDP Yemen reflecting a development approach that places people at the center of recovery.

The Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) stood out as one of our most innovative programs in enabling Yemenis to adapt independently to their humanitarian crisis by reviving the tradition of SAVING. Despite their difficult conditions, have supported their members' income-generating activities with 8,284 soft loans with a total value of 2.5 billion Riyals.
