Strengthening protection against measles for children in southern . 💉

MoH Deputy Minister Dr Ali Al-Waleedi, Director of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) Branch in Aden, Mr Saleh Al-Dhebani, and World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Yemen Dr. Syed Jaffar Hussain, attended the handover of 32 solar-powered vaccine refrigerators and 12 vaccine freezers for Aden and Taiz, supported by KSrelief.

The new equipment will ensure safe vaccine storage, maintain vaccine potency, reduce wastage and expand reliable immunization services, particularly for children in underserved communities.

تعزيز الحماية ضد مرض الحصبة للأطفال في المناطق الجنوبية في #اليمن. 💉

بحضور وكيل وزارة الصحة لقطاع الرعاية د. علي الوليدي، ومدير فرع مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية في عدن السيد صالح الذيباني وممثل منظمة الصحة العالمية في اليمن الدكتور سيد جعفر حسين، تم تسليم 32 ثلاجة لقاحات تعمل بالطاقة الشمسية و12 مجمّدة لقاحات لمحافظتي عدن وتعز، وذلك بدعم من مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية.

وستسهم هذه المعدات في ضمان التخزين الآمن للقاحات، والحفاظ على فعاليتها، وتقليل الهدر، إلى جانب توسيع نطاق خدمات التحصين الموثوقة، لا سيما للأطفال في المجتمعات الأكثر احتياجاً.

إن تعزيز الجهود الرامية لمواجهة مقاومة مضادات الميكروبات يتطلب بناء أنظمة مخبرية أكثر كفاءة وقوة.

وفي إطار البرنامج الوطني لمكافحة مضادات الميكروبات المعتمد على "نهج الصحة الواحدة"، تعمل منظمة الصحة العالمية، ووزارة الصحة العامة والسكان، ومنظمة أطباء بلا حدود بدعم من صندوق مكافحة الجوائح على تطوير مهارات أخصائيي المختبرات في #اليمن. ويركز التدريب العملي على استخدام أداتي "أنتبيوغو" (Antibiogo) و"هونيت WHONET" لتحسين دقة فحوصات الحساسية للمضادات الحيوية وتعزيز ترصد مقاومة مضادات الميكروبات؛ مما يسهم في توحيد النتائج المخبرية، ورفع جودة البيانات، ودعم اتخاذ قرارات علاجية وسياسات صحة عامة أكثر دقة واستنارة.

Strengthening action against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) requires stronger laboratory systems.

Through the National Antimicrobial Resistance One Health Programme, World Health Organization (WHO), the Ministry of Public Health and Population and Médecins Sans Frontières / MSF, with support from the Pandemic Fund, are strengthening laboratory professionals’ skills in . The hands-on training uses Antibiogo and WHONET to improve antibiotic susceptibility testing and AMR surveillance, helping standardize laboratory results, improve data quality and support better-informed treatment and public health decisions.

الوصول إلى الفئات غير المخدومة وتوفير خدمات صحية منقذة للحياة في جميع أنحاء المناطق الجنوبية في #اليمن.

بالشراكة مع وزارة الصحة العامة والسكان، وبدعم من التحالف العالمي للقاحات والتحصين، تنفذ منظمة الصحة العالمية الجولة الثانية من النشاط الإيصالي التكاملي. وتستهدف هذه المرحلة، التي تُنفذ خلال الفترة من 8 إلى 13 أغسطس، تقديم لقاح الحصبة والحصبة الألمانية والخدمات الصحية التكاملية لـعدد 204,765 طفلاً تتراوح أعمارهم بين 6–59 شهراً في 9 مديريات عالية الخطورة.

ولضمان الوصول إلى كل طفل مستحق، تم نشر 389 فريق تطعيم، تشمل 119 فريقاً ثابتاً و270 فريقاً متحركاً، بمساندة 1,167 عاملاً صحياً.

Reaching the unreached with lifesaving health services across southern areas in .

Together with the Ministry of Public Health and Population, with support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, World Health Organization (WHO) is implementing the second Integrated Outreach Round.

From 8–13 August, the second phase targets 204,765 children aged 6–59 months in nine high-risk districts with measles-rubella vaccination and integrated health services. To reach every eligible child, 389 vaccination teams—119 fixed and 270 mobile—supported by 1,167 health workers and social mobilizers have been deployed.

تعزيز جاهزية اليمن للطوارئ الصحية.

بدعم من المفوضية الأوروبية للمساعدات الإنسانية والحماية المدنية، عقدت منظمة الصحة العالمية ووزارة الصحة العامة والسكان في عدن الاجتماع الأول للجنة التوجيهية لفرق الطوارئ الطبية الوطنية.

يأتي هذا الاجتماع لتعزيز الجهود الرامية إلى بناء أول قدرة وطنية طبية للطوارئ وقابلة للنشر السريع في #اليمن، مع وضع أطر حوكمة واضحة، وتدريب الفرق المختصة، وتوفير المستلزمات الأساسية وأنظمة التفعيل اللازمة لتقديم الرعاية الإكلينيكية المنقذة للحياة في حالات الطوارئ.

Strengthening Yemen’s readiness for health emergencies.

With EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid support, World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Public Health and Population convened the first National Emergency Medical Team Steering Committee meeting in Aden.

The meeting advances efforts to establish ’s first nationally owned and rapidly deployable emergency medical capacity, with clear governance, trained teams, essential supplies and activation systems to deliver lifesaving clinical care in emergencies.

يتم العمل على تكثيف الجهود لحماية الأطفال من مرض الحصبة في جميع أنحاء المناطق الجنوبية في #اليمن.

في الفترة من 25 إلى 30 يوليو، وصلت الجولة الثانية من النشاط الإيصال التكاملي إلى الأطفال في المحافظات الجنوبية، بما في ذلك مأرب، حيث تلقى 3,200 طفل ممن فاتتهم الجرعات السابقة أو لم يتلقوا أي جرعة سابقة (الجرعة الصفرية) لقاحات الحصبة والحصبة الألمانية.

وفي الفترة من 8 إلى 13 أغسطس، ستستهدف جهود التحصين المكثفة الأطفال الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 6 و59 شهرًا في 10 مديريات ذات خطورة عالية عبر سبع محافظات، تليها حملة تطعيم شاملة ابتداءً من منتصف سبتمبر.

وتعمل منظمة الصحة العالمية جنباً إلى جنب مع وزارة الصحة العامة والسكان لتعزيز الاستجابة لمرض الحصبة وحماية الأطفال الأكثر عرضة للخطر.

Efforts to protect children from measles are being intensified across southern .

From 25–30 July, the second Integrated Outreach Round reached children across southern governorates, including Marib, where 3,200 children who missed previous doses or were zero-dose received measles-rubella vaccines.

From 8–13 August, intensified immunization efforts will target children aged 6–59 months in 10 high-risk districts across seven governorates, followed by a mass vaccination campaign from mid-September.

World Health Organization (WHO) is working alongside the Ministry of Public Health and Population to strengthen the measles response and safeguard vulnerable children.
