💡 Data & Measurement: The Compass for Change-Makers in Yemen
Measuring impact is not just about numbers; it’s about ensuring our efforts truly transform communities.
As part of the Starling Collective Yemen Fellowship, we held our second interactive training session this Tuesday, January 20th, 2026. This session focused on the vital pillar of "Data and Measurement."
✨ Global Inspiration Meets Local Action
We were honored to host Jennifer, founder of the Teachers for Peace movement and a 2022 Global Starling Collective alumna.
* Jennifer shared her remarkable journey of scaling a crisis-response initiative into a sustainable global movement.
* She offered invaluable insights on leveraging learning resources and peer networks.
* Her message to our fellows was powerful: "Do not let limited resources hold you back in the beginning. True impact starts with a courageous first step."
📊 From Theory to Practice (Led by Facilitator Yasser Al-Selwi)
The session moved into a hands-on workshop, equipping our fellows with the tools needed to amplify their impact:
* SMART Goals: Breaking down grand visions into measurable, trackable results.
* Performance Indicators: Real-world models for measuring success in community initiatives and social movements.
* The GivingTuesday Model: Insights into how global data is collected and analyzed to grow generosity and social contributions.
* Measurement Toolkits: Practical templates and frameworks for immediate field application.
🤝 Engagement & Impact
The energy was palpable! Our fellows engaged in deep discussions, showing great enthusiasm for applying these analytical tools to track their progress and evaluate their long-term impact on the ground in Yemen.
🌹 A Note of Gratitude
A huge thank you to our friend Jennifer for her time and for sharing her inspiring story. Her contribution added immense value to our collective learning journey.
