Today, the city of Seiyun witnessed the conclusion of the Sustainable Climate Forum in an interactive atmosphere that reflected the community’s awareness and determination to protect its environment and safeguard its climate future.
Wadi and Desert Hadramout—this vast geographical area representing a deep civilizational and cultural heritage, a vital agricultural resource, and a pillar of social stability—hosted the forum with renewed spirit, affirming that climate action is no longer an option, but a necessity for building a sustainable present worthy of future generations 🌱🌾
The forum was attended by prominent local leaders, government entities, community figures, representatives of civil society organizations, and distinguished youth participants who presented innovative visions and practical solutions to the climate challenges facing Wadi Hadramout—ranging from water scarcity and shifting rainfall patterns to sustainable agriculture, combating desertification, and addressing environmental degradation in desert and agricultural areas.
The forum comes as part of the launched by the Sustainable Green Future Foundation (SGF) in partnership with the Arab Center for the Sustainability of Civil Work – Misr El Kheir Foundation, and the Green Climate Organizations Union for Development. It was held under the generous patronage of the Ministry of Water and Environment – Yemen and the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA Yemen), and implemented by Basma Development Foundation in Wadi Hadramout in partnership with the Local Authority of Hadramout Governorate – Valley and Desert, the Environmental Protection Authority Office – Hadramout Valley and Desert Branch, the Cleaning and Improvement Fund Office – Valley and Desert, and the Faculty of Agriculture and Food – Seiyun University.
The forum was not merely an event, but a message of awareness and action launched from among palm farms, desert landscapes, and life-giving oases to declare:
“Hadramout deserves to flourish… and together we will build it green.” 🌿✨
With this inspiring conclusion, the continues its journey to other governorates, uniting efforts toward a greener, more resilient Yemen and achieving climate justice—culminating in the grand closing conference in Aden ✨
