In Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Immigration Coalition (PIC) with its partner organizations across the state, encouraged new citizens to vote through phone banking and education as a counter to the fear tactics of the federal government. There are over 600,000 naturalized citizens eligible to vote in Pennsylvania, according to PIC. YES, the Trump administration SUPPRESSED an internal government study proving that refugees have a POSITIVE economic impact.

A 55-page draft report from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) revealed that refugees contributed $269.1 billion in tax revenue between 2005 and 2014, resulting in a $63 billion net positive fiscal impact to the U.S. economy.

White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller personally intervened to BLOCK the release of the draft. Under his direction, the administration eliminated all findings related to tax revenues and economic contributions.

They instead released a heavily edited three-page report that focused exclusively on the upfront costs of government services to justify slashing the annual refugee cap to historic lows.

As usual, the truth matters NOT AT ALL to Trump and his sycophants, and they’ll do whatever it takes to hide it from the American public.
