This week's is Mother Stephanie Carter.
Mother Stephanie is our Chapter President and a former classroom teacher and Instructional Specialist. She is now the Sisterhood Director for Concord Church. She plans programs to lift up women of the church and the community. In addition to leading bible classes to increase their faith and grow their spiritual maturity, Stephanie uniquely connects with women to grow their total selves socially, emotionally, and mentally. Through the HerStory podcasts, she uses her gift of connection to speak to every role the woman plays: daughter, wife, mother, grandmother sister, friend, caretaker, etc. She sees us all.
Mother Stephanie has brought elevated energy, enthusiasm and creativity in her first year as our chapter president. She is more than our chapter leader; she walks in this role as a fellow mother. It would be easy to simply fangirl a chapter mother who serves as First Lady for one of the region's largest churches. But when she comes into our space, she is a relatable mother sharing hard truths about the journey of motherhood. She has a special gift of humanizing these highly regarded roles in the community and in our organization that can seem untouchable. She’s both Lady Carter and CP Stephanie while being Mother Stephanie, too. She is a fierce prayer warrior when the needs of our children are brought to her. She is a comrade in helping us fight for our children when needed. And, she is sage counsel to help us navigate our own paths to become the mother and woman we are called to be.
Her church famously promises to “Grow People” and we feel that CP Stephanie has committed herself to “Grow Mothers” in the Dallas Chapter. We can truly say that we are already seeing ourselves blossom under her care.
CP Stephanie is our crush on any given day, so we couldn't think of a better mom to honor on the day after we celebrate all mothers. We’re crushing on her our loud today and can admit that we are a little giddy about it.
