This week’s is Nkoyo Robinson.

Nkoyo is a digital marketing and brand strategist based for a global insurance and consultant firm. She specializes in digital strategy, marketing operations, and program management with a lengthy history in helping organizations design and execute initiatives that bring people together, whether through digital platforms, brand experiences, or large-scale programming.

Among her many responsibilities in the Dallas Chapter, Nkoyo serves as our Chapter Historian and is tasked with maintaining the rich history of the second oldest chapter in Texas with an organizational structure that predates our chartering in 1953.

Nkoyo has also been an integral part of our annual Beautillion serving as the Co-Chair of the Program Committee which manages the presentation of the beaux corps at the formal event.

Nkoyo is on the Social Media Committee, is a Grade Group Sponsor, and will be one of our chaperones for Teen Conference this summer.

Nkoyo is a gift to our chapter beyond her acts of service. She shows up as a sister-friend with a smile and encouraging word and an embrace for any mother at any time. She brings kindness, joy, compassion, and understanding to challenging circumstances. Likewise, she brings elation and high energy in the best circumstances.

Nkoyo is thoughtful, dedicated, and an essential part of the infrastructure of our chapter. Her sincerity and goodness make it easy to crush on her.

This week’s is Arlena Gaynor Mergerson, Ed. D.

Arlena is a Chief of Academics at a national education organization that builds the capacity of PK-12 school systems to advance equitable access to educational excellence for all students. She is part of an experienced team of practitioners committed to achieving educational equity, especially those who are systemically farthest from opportunity.

As a first-year mother, Arlena has already begun to utilize her educational training and desire for systems-improvement to assist our chapter. She is a member of the community service committee and stepped in to facilitate one of our annual projects bringing efficiency and organization to help meet our deliverables. As someone whose career has been dedicated to ensuring that underserved and those furthest from robust opportunity have their needs met, Arlena has found her niche by helping us better serve the community.

Arlena stands out among us as the only Dallas chapter mother tapped for next cohort of the Jack and Jill South Central Region Mary Lou Adams Leadership Academy. She is rising star in our chapter and we couldn’t be more thrilled about what she will experience as part of the region’s training program.

As a vital member of our youngest grade group, we have great expectations that she will use both the internal and external leadership training for the good of our mothers, children, and the communities we serve.

Her kind spirit, creativity and consistency are among the many reasons that we are crushing on her today.

This week's is Mother Stephanie Carter.

Mother Stephanie is our Chapter President and a former classroom teacher and Instructional Specialist. She is now the Sisterhood Director for Concord Church. She plans programs to lift up women of the church and the community. In addition to leading bible classes to increase their faith and grow their spiritual maturity, Stephanie uniquely connects with women to grow their total selves socially, emotionally, and mentally. Through the HerStory podcasts, she uses her gift of connection to speak to every role the woman plays: daughter, wife, mother, grandmother sister, friend, caretaker, etc. She sees us all.

Mother Stephanie has brought elevated energy, enthusiasm and creativity in her first year as our chapter president. She is more than our chapter leader; she walks in this role as a fellow mother. It would be easy to simply fangirl a chapter mother who serves as First Lady for one of the region's largest churches. But when she comes into our space, she is a relatable mother sharing hard truths about the journey of motherhood. She has a special gift of humanizing these highly regarded roles in the community and in our organization that can seem untouchable. She’s both Lady Carter and CP Stephanie while being Mother Stephanie, too. She is a fierce prayer warrior when the needs of our children are brought to her. She is a comrade in helping us fight for our children when needed. And, she is sage counsel to help us navigate our own paths to become the mother and woman we are called to be.

Her church famously promises to “Grow People” and we feel that CP Stephanie has committed herself to “Grow Mothers” in the Dallas Chapter. We can truly say that we are already seeing ourselves blossom under her care.

CP Stephanie is our crush on any given day, so we couldn't think of a better mom to honor on the day after we celebrate all mothers. We’re crushing on her our loud today and can admit that we are a little giddy about it.

This week’s is Mother April Allen.

April is the President and CEO of the Southern Gateway Public Green Foundation which is overseeing the Halperin Park project in Oak Cliff. This “a park with a purpose” encompasses more than five acres of new urban green space that will serve as a focal point in a beloved sector of Dallas for development, economic revitalization and more access to amenities for the community.

In a recent interview, April was credited with seeing this new venture as a “park with the purpose of knitting east and west Oak Cliff back together while catalyzing investment and transformation in the long-neglected southern sector of the city.”

April has even provided our teens with a sneak peek of this project and a tour of the Oak Cliff sector opening their minds to the economics opportunities in this area.
Her connection to community organizations has proven beneficial to our chapter as evidenced by her coordination of a chapter wide event in partnership with the Community Council of Greater Dallas. Each of our five grade groups held their own activity during the Fifth Annual Family Fit Fest, a health and wellness fair that provided complimentary services and vital information to families.

April is as kind as she is committed. She is engaged in chapter meetings and committees making the most of her first year in Jack and Jill. We are thrilled to crush on her as we watch her shine in the community and in the chapter.

This week's is Dr. Kimulique Allen.

Mother Kim is a preventive medicine physician with an impressive resume as an internal as a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and Dallas County Medical Society. She has served multiple leadership roles, including onboarding, credentials, and processes improvement.

Within the Dallas chapter, Kim is a faithful member who works behinds the scenes in the most unnoticeable ways to keep our chapter operating efficiently. Quiet and unassuming, Kim is ready to serve wherever is needed. Whichever committee has the least number of members is where Kim willingly raises her hand to serve.

Her experience as a former Nominating Committee chair proved beneficial when the call to step in during our most recent teen elections was made. She didn't deflect the duty. She didn't deflect the responsibility to anyone else. She stepped in and effortlessly completed the task. Classic Kim.

She is kind. She is compassionate. She is dedicated. She is committed. We're confident that her patients must relish in her bedside manner as we’ve experienced a sample of that through her service on the sisterly relations committee.

As a sister-mom, she is always willing to share a kind word to encourage mothers along their motherhood journey. She is a model member who is supportive of chapter leadership to ensure that their vision is implemented in the chapter.
Kim’s beautiful smile reflects her spirit. And, thinking of her makes us smile as we crush on her.

This week’s is Mother Dia Baggett.

Dia is a former high school teacher and certified educator who uses her years of experience and training to support the community through various organizations, including our Jack and Jill chapter.

Dia has served the chapter in various capacities, including Assistant Programming Director where she provided support to all of our Grade Group Sponsors in the required planning of their monthly hosting activities. She managed the process for the more than 100 mothers to select and implement their activities. She has served Annual Christmas Brunch committee and the Hospitality Committee for our Beautillion.

Most recently, Dia was the driving force behind our holiday community service project where our children and parents worked with a local partner for families in need. Our children assisted parents and guardians as they “shopped” for their children by selected donated items and then were able to have the presents gift-wrapped by other chapter volunteers ensuring that all families, regardless of current economic and housing status, could have a magical holiday experience. She has already begun the groundwork for next year's holiday community service project.

Dia is meticulous when it comes to laying out instructions and details for any event. She wants our chapter to present all of our activities and events with a high level of excellence, and she is prepared to provide the support that is needed to effectuate that. Her educational background benefits anything that she touches so that our kids come away from our events having learned something in the moment and are taught something that they can carry into the future.

Dia has worked to curate experiences that have manifested transformative opportunities for our us and our children.

She is truly one of a kind and we are proud to crush on her.
