The disciples were caught in a storm they could not control. The wind was raging. The waves were crashing into the boat. And while they were terrified about what might happen next, Jesus was right there with them.

Then He stood and spoke: “Peace! Be still!”

And the wind obeyed.

The disciples couldn’t control the storm—but they were in the boat with the One who could.
Maybe that’s the reminder you need today. Peace isn’t found in knowing how the storm will end. Peace is found in knowing Jesus is with you in it.

You may not control what comes next, but you can trust the One who commands the wind and the waves.

In Mark 2, the paralyzed man had friends who refused to leave him where he was. When they couldn’t get through the door, they climbed onto the roof, tore it open, and lowered their friend right in front of Jesus.

That’s friendship.

Sometimes you’re strong enough to walk yourself to Jesus.

And sometimes you need friends who will pick up your mat and carry you there.

Find friends who will carry you to Jesus—and be that kind of friend for someone else.

The more we know His Word, the more we discover Him.

The world will tell you to find yourself. Define yourself. Create your own identity.

But our identity was never meant to be built on what we do, what we have, or what others say about us.

Our identity is found in Christ and in who He says we are.

When everything else feels uncertain or constantly changing, His truth remains firm. You are His.

For years, I thought Christianity was about becoming a better version of myself.

Try harder. Clean up. Behave better. Check the religious boxes.

That approach never changed my heart.
Then I encountered Jesus.

The gospel is not a self-improvement plan. Jesus did not come to polish our behavior or make us slightly nicer people. He came because sin had left us spiritually dead and unable to save ourselves.

We didn’t need a checklist.
We needed resurrection.

Come to Him as you are, and let the One who walked out of the grave breathe life into you.

“But God, who is rich in mercy… made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses.” - Ephesians 2:4–5

We can spend so much of our lives striving to earn what has already been freely given.

But the gospel reminds us: it was never about what we can do for God. It has always been about what Jesus has done for us. We are saved by grace. Sustained by grace. Kept by grace.

And because Jesus finished the work, we can rest in Him.

These five truths changed the way I see suffering, holiness, identity, and hope, but more than anything, they left me more captivated by Jesus.
