Trio Animal Foundation

Trio Animal Foundation After the dogs have received medical treatment, TAF pairs them up with our therapy dogs to focus on their emotional rehabilitation.

TAF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that pays for the medical bills of some of the sickest, abused and neglected dogs impounded at Animal Control or left to fend for themselves on the streets of Chicago. The Trio Animal Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that pays for the medical bills of some of the sickest, abused pets left behind at open access shelters. Once we fix their

bodies we are able to heal their hearts and teach them to trust again, making them adoptable and ready for their forever homes. But that’s not all …TAF also assists shelters, rescues and individuals by paying the medical bills of homeless pets while promoting adoption and responsible pet ownership, including spay and neuter.

Find someone in your life that looks at you the way Margo looks at her foster friend. Kindness goes a long way and Margo will forever be grateful that she was given a second chance to live.♥️

Thank you to Margo's foster home for caring for her. Margo's heart surgery is scheduled for June 18th. Metaphorically speaking, it looks like has already healed. ♥️ Rachel Findley

Eeyore spent some one on one time with Alma this evening and worked on her walking manners. Eeyore walks like he is wearing overalls, with a straw in his mouth all while drinking Country Time Lemonade in an old southern movie. Alma, on the other hand, acts like she is late for an appointment and can't get there fast enough. Having an old timer slow down our 6 month old puppy is quite handy. Weighing in at 175lbs, Eeyore is a solid role model for Alma. ♥️

Senior, toothless, gentle as could be, Penelope is looking for her forever home...

Estimated to be around 14 years old, Penelope is a survivor. She found her way into rescue after her owner threw her out the front door. Penelope spent time at a police station and ultimately ended up at an open access shelter. When TAF was asked to help Penelope, we had no idea the medical journey that was soon to follow. Penelope had both of her ear drums burst, fractured sternum, rotten teeth, GI issues and mammary tumors. With wonky back legs and a crooked little spine, we weren’t sure what the future would hold for Penelope. Since October, Penelope has undergone 2 surgeries and underwent just about every test possible. It seems now that her body is back on track, and we have figured out what makes Penelope tick.

After months of adjusting her food and supplements, Penelope finally has no more issues with her GI tract. She primarily chooses to use potty pads and if there is an option to go outside, will go on the turf. There will, however, be occasional accidents on the floor.

Penelope LOVES to sunbathe. It is most definitely her favorite activity. Penelope is good with people, kids and dogs. When it comes to big dogs, Penelope can get a bit bossy and stressed out. She will run up and bark at them. With no teeth, she is no threat, but I worry that another dog might act out towards her and she will not be able to defend herself. She is like a white bunny rabbit that barks.

Penelope walks like an old lady dog and is quite stiff. Weighing in at around 8lbs, it is easy to pick Penelope up. Penelope does not ask for much and just wants to be loved. Her previous owner was not kind to Penelope, and fearing that she might be hit, Penelope will fall to her back when you go to pick her up. You need to scoop her up like a baby to ensure that she doesn’t get hurt.

If Penelope sounds like she might be a good fit for your home, please consider filling out an adoption application. https://www.trioanimalfoundation.org/programs/adoption

PLEASE SHARE so that Penelope can find the forever home that fits her best. THANKS!

TAF is so happy to announce that Bryson has found his forever home!

After living 8 months in an open access shelter, TAF took Bryson into our care. He was the nicest little guy and such a gentleman. Once with our therapy dogs, Bryson played with our youngest therapy dog in training, Alma. Bryson was so good with Alma and recognized that, though large, she was still just a puppy. We knew that he was a special pup and he proved it every day in our care.

When it came time for adoption, TAF reached out to Chicago Canine Rescue and asked for their help. Just up the street, CCR has an amazing adoption facility and program. With their help, Bryson was adopted by one of their long time supporters and 2x previous adopter! Bryson's new dad adores him and they plan on having an epic life together. We wish them both the best of luck and am so happy that they found each other. ♥️

Thank you Chicago Canine Rescue for working with us to make this happily ever after possible!

Margo had a checkup at Precious Bond Animal Hospital today and received an allergy shot, too. Dr. Stecher couldn't believe the difference in joy only Margo's appearance but her personality, too. She said that Margo's quality of life is 100% better than the day TAF brought her in. After having both of her infected and infected ear canals removed, Marlo is now officially pain free! There is one persistent, small wound on the back of her left ear that is having a hard time fully healing. It is the area where she used to have an abscess and there is a lot of scar tissue. The skin is also thin so is she scratches it opens back up. We have some new medication that should help.

Margo is almost completely tapered off of the drug prednisone to help manage her allergies. Over the next week, if all goes as planned, she just might be done. Margo seems to have some environmental allergies when she is out I the grass, after it rains. Nothing too extreme when given a medicated bath, though. We are very optimistic that with the help of her foster mom, Rachel Findley, she is just going to continue to improve. Rachel is TAF's trainer and Margo flourishing under her care.

Margo loves kids and plays fabulously with them. She is going to make someone a really great dog. ♥️

Ivy underwent surgery this morning to repair a hematoma in her right ear. Two drain were put in to help it drain. She also had a teeth cleaning. This afternoon, Ivy had Erchonia low-level cold laser therapy on her ear. This will decrease her healing time and help calm her nerves. She responds so well to the laser therapy and will receive it multiple times a day until she makes a full recovery.

Thank you Shelter Veterinary Solutions, L&B Pet PT and Erchonia Corporation for helping to put our little girl back together.♥️
