☕ Sometimes, change starts with a cuppa and a conversation. 💚

It’s , and we’re here to remind you that you don’t have to do it alone.

Whether you’re thinking about stopping smoking, trying to cut down, have tried before, or aren’t quite sure where to start — there’s a place for you at KF. 💚

As Derbyshire Stop Smoking Champions, we’re here to offer a listening ear, practical advice, encouragement and connections to the right support.

No lectures. No pressure. No judgement.

Just real people, real conversations and support that works for YOU.

Because we know change isn’t always straightforward. There might be setbacks, difficult days and plenty of cups of tea along the way. And that’s absolutely okay.

🌿 You don’t need to have all the answers.

🌿 You don’t need to make a commitment today.

🌿 You don’t even need to be ready to quit.

You can simply come and have a chat.

And if you do decide to take that next step, we’ll be right there in your corner, helping you find what works for you.

💚 Small steps count. Every conversation counts. And nobody should have to do it alone.

Pop in, drop us a message or come and join us for a brew. The kettle’s on! ☕

🚭 This Stoptober, we’re Recovering Together. 💚

Kelsey Family CIC is proud to be part of Derbyshire’s Smoke Free Pledge, supporting people across our communities to make positive changes towards a healthier, smoke-free future.

We know quitting smoking isn’t always as simple as “just stopping” — particularly when smoking has become part of coping with stress, mental health, recovery or everyday routines. That’s why our approach is about support, not judgement.

Throughout Stoptober and beyond, we can offer 1:1 support, friendly group activities, wellbeing and outdoor sessions, access to v**e kits and practical resources, alongside encouragement from people who understand that change happens one step at a time.

Whether you’re ready to quit, thinking about cutting down, or just want to have a conversation about your options — come and talk to us. 💚

🌿 Real people. Real support. Brighter tomorrows.

💚 Macmillan Coffee Morning at KF CIC 💚

This one feels particularly close to home.

After Dad’s cancer diagnosis, and losing him last year, I know how quickly cancer becomes about so much more than appointments, treatment and medical terminology. It affects whole families. There are questions, fear, practical worries, grief, uncertainty — and sometimes you simply need somewhere you can sit down, have a coffee and talk.

So this Friday, we’re opening the doors at KF for our Macmillan Coffee Morning.

☕ Friday 25th September | 10.30am–12pm
📍 The Alder Centre, Belper

This isn’t just coffee and cake. It’s an open space for anyone affected by cancer — whether you’re living with a diagnosis, supporting somebody you love, have lost someone, or simply want to understand more.

There’ll be space for open chats, discussion, advice, education and support. No pressure to talk. No expectation to share your story. You can just come, have a brew and be around people who understand that sometimes the little things matter enormously.

And the coffee is pretty special too. ❤️ Our morning is kindly sponsored by Rob’s Roast — coffee created in Dad’s memory, with every cup carrying a little piece of his story.

Come for the coffee. Come for the cake. Come for the conversation. Or just come because you don’t want to sit with it alone.

Everyone is welcome. 💚

LET’S TALK SEXUAL HEALTH

Alcohol and other substances can affect our sexual health in more ways than we might realise.

They can affect decision-making, boundaries and consent, make us more likely to take risks we wouldn’t normally take, and sometimes impact libido, sexual function, relationships and emotional wellbeing too.

And sexual health isn’t something to feel embarrassed about. It’s simply part of looking after you.

If substance use has played a part in your life and you’ve got questions, concerns or just want a confidential chat, come and see us at The KF Hub. No judgement. No awkward conversations. Just straightforward advice, support and help to find the right services if you need them.

📍 Drop in at The Hub
Tuesdays | 11:30am–1:30pm
Fridays | 10:30am–12:30pm

You don’t have to wait until something feels like a “problem” to ask for advice.

Knowledge. Choice. Safety. Support.

📚 KF ONLINE BOOK CLUB | SEPTEMBER READ

Our September read is Lived Experience Recovery Organisations: Peer Generated Epicentres of Personal Change and Collective Transformation, edited by Dr David Patton and Dr Ed Day.

And this one feels particularly relevant to us at KF.

It explores the power of lived experience, peer-led recovery, connection and community — and how people who have walked through their own experiences can become part of creating change for others.

📖 How our online book club works:

✨ Read the book in your own time, at your own pace
✨ Head to the link in our bio for our online reading guide
✨ Use the prompts to reflect as you go
✨ Think about what resonates, what challenges you and what we can learn
✨ Join in with the conversation and share your thoughts with us online

You absolutely do not need to be an academic, professional or recovery expert to join in.

This is about real people, real experiences and real conversations.

Whether you work in recovery, have lived experience yourself, support someone who does, volunteer in your community or are simply curious about how recovery communities create change — you’re welcome here. ❤️

Because some of the most important learning doesn’t happen in a classroom.

It happens when we listen to people who have lived it.

Read. Reflect. Connect. Create change.

📚 KF BOOK CLUB | THIS MONTH’S READ

This month we’re reading Hypnosis to Kundalini by Jeremy Wheeler.

A book that explores hypnosis, addiction, trauma, healing, spirituality and consciousness through one person’s lived experience.

Whether this is a topic you know a lot about or you’re simply curious, this month’s read is guaranteed to spark some thought-provoking conversations.

At KF Book Club, there are no deadlines, no pressure and no right or wrong opinions.

✨ Read in your own time.
✨ Reflect in your own way.
✨ Join the conversation when you’re ready.

We’ve also created a FREE Reading & Reflection Guide to help you think a little deeper about the themes within the book. It’s designed to encourage curiosity, critical thinking and self-reflection—not tell you what to think.

📥 Download your reading guide via the link in our bio.

This isn’t about agreeing with every idea in the book. It’s about exploring different perspectives, challenging our own thinking and learning together.

Happy reading. 📖💛

🚗 Need Help Getting to the KF Community Hub? We’ve Got You.

We know that transport can be one of the biggest barriers to accessing support. That’s why we’re pleased to offer transport to and from our Belper Community Hub for those who need it.

Whether you’re looking for support around substance use, supporting a loved one, or simply want to connect with others who understand, we don’t want travel to stand in the way.

Transport available (subject to availability)
Safe, welcoming and non-judgemental environment
No referral needed
Support for individuals and affected family members

If getting to the hub has been stopping you from coming along, please get in touch. We’ll do everything we can to help.

Send us a message or contact us to book transport or find out more.

Because support should be accessible to everyone—not just those who can get there.
