At the start of May, we hosted our latest Friends Helping Friends: Children's Grief Support Camp. This time, our theme focused on the movie The Bridge to Terabithia; a film filled with imagination, grief, and magic. Over two days, eight children experiencing the loss of a parent came together and had opportunities to engage with their imaginations, grief, and magic. 🔮🪄
Children used their imaginations to create personal tree houses and Guiding Step memorial crafts. They were thrilled by a magic show offered by the Great Gordini, and they engaged with their grief and their own magical gifts to offer grief support to a cast of characters they encountered along a whimsical journey through Surrey's own version of Terabithia. At the end of our camp, each child had the chance to cross the bridge they built together. ✨🌈
