Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242

Scouting is open to boys and girls in grades k-5 and teaches life skills through fun activities and adventure.

As New Hampshire's February vacation comes to a close, Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242 looks back at all the Fun Winter Adventures we've had!

At the end of January the Pack was able to host members from the New Hampshire Fish and Game 🎣🧊 on Loon Pond. We got to learn all about ice safety, how to drill for holes, and depths of ice!

With all the snow 🌨️ the Pack had to take advantage and met for a sledding day in February! We took turns racing each other up And down the hill! 🛷

And most recently we started our February vacation off right with a trip to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord! Scouts earned their Astronomy Badges ⭐🚀👩🏼‍🚀🔭 and learned all about the constellations!

Our next event is the Pinewood Derby and it's just around the Corner on March 7th! We open up this fun racing experience to the public! So come help support your local Cub Scouts Pack!

Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242 hosted our annual Pack Holiday Party! We talked about our holiday traditions, enjoyed games, a potluck and gift swap!
A special thank you to the Gilford Community Church for allowing us to use the space to host our event

A Scout is Reverent 🕊️

During this season of giving a few of the Scouts from our Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242, braved the cold to help volunteer at Blue Star Mother's Wreaths at Boscowen Event at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Scouts helped at the truck distributing out wreaths and bows to the families and volunteers that come to this event. Scouts were even able place a few wreaths at veterans grave sites themselves.

Scouts from the Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242 in the Gilmanton School district, participated in the Gilmanton School's Veterans Day Assembly this past Monday. They assisted the color guard with the flag ceremony

Yesterday Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242 Scouted for Food!
The previous week Scouts placed door tags out on some homes around our community.
We wanted to give an extra special THANK YOU to all those that donated!
Our pack was able to collect 388 nonperishable food donations! All donations will come right back to the community and to our local food pantry!

Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242 wanted to thank all those that came out to our Not So Scary Cemetery Tour the other night! Fred Bucholz gave us a wonderful tour.

A Scout is Clean: Our AOL, Weblos and Bears patrolled the cemetery looking for any trash before and after our tour to help keep our town clean!

Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242 hosted our Halloween Pack Meeting yesterday
🎃🎃🎃

Our Pack would like to especially thank our District Commissioner Liz for donating 20 pumpkins for our pack to decorate! A scout is Thrifty

We also learned about density with a sink or float test, and we talked about force, motion and momentum. Scouts also did some scout or treating!

We Welcomed in two new scouts to our pack, as we continue to grow! Our Pack is open to both boys and girls grades K-5! We believe Scouting is an Outting. So come check us and join the fun!

Looking for some local Halloween Fun?!?!

Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242 is hosting a Not So Scary Cemetery Tour 🪦🍁🍂🎃

Located at the Smith Meetinghouse Cemetery in Gilmanton on Tuesday October 28th. A special tour will be given by the keeper (sexton) of the Cemetery Fred Bucholz. Fred has a wealth of knowlege about the site and will be telling us stories about notable historcal figures as we walk through time at this Historical Site.

Cub Scouts will have a table setup at the entrance of the cemetery providing warm apple cider, baked goods, and handmade crafts by scouts for you to enjoy on your tour! All items will be available for donations only.

So bring the whole family! Enjoy this wonderful free tour and feel good you supported the town and your local Cub Scouts! We hope to Scout you In and see you there!

Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242 hosted our annual Rain Gutter Regatta! Scouts built and race their boats. We welcomed in new faces to our pack and had an absolute blast!
I couldn't be more proud of this pack and how much we've grown over the past year!
We are always open and looking for new scouts to join us! We host pack meetings the second Friday of every month and welcome those interested to come check us out!

Gilmanton Cub Scouts Pack 242 is participating in a hike-athon! We are hoping to help raise funds for our Pack!
