BuildSocial is a global crowd funding platform that allows anyone to participate in community conscious architecture + design efforts by donating as little as $5 toward making life changing design solutions a reality for people who couldn’t normally afford them.

The BuildSocial team works closely with our community partners to make design solutions a reality for people who couldn’t afford them otherwise. Here, we want to write the stories of those in need, those with a desire, and those with a vision so your success is our success. We believe this can be a global movement. One where people worldwide can participate and invest in helping one another improve their build environment and transform our planet for the betterment of humanity as a whole.

Architecture as a practice is evolving. We realize that the idea of who an architect is and what an architect does is changing. And here’s how, Build Social believes the Citizen Architect is becoming more common and more relevant. The Citizen Architect uses his/her insights, talents, training, and experience to contribute to the improvement of community and the human condition. They also stay informed on local, state, and federal issues, and make time for service to the community. Above all else, Citizen Architects are those who design and create for humanity. Build Social works to bridge the gap between the Citizen Architect’s design and the realization of its benefits. Too often when something beautiful and needed by an under served populous is designed no one person wants to pay to make it a built reality. So we work to get people in the general public involved, to be able to donate and make these design projects a reality.
