A story from one of our students who is doing beautiful things in Haiti. ❤️
In life,
there are days that do not last,
there are days that are never forgotten.
January 12, 2010 brought hardships to us,
our hearts were saddened, our minds were troubled.
It was in this context that the Bersony family would gather with the youth of the Neighborhood, to pray together, sing and learn the word of God.
So, I, James RICHARD, began to frequent the other side (the space),
To go sing, pray, and learn the word of God.
During these times, each time we gather, the Bersony family always makes a way for us to eat a piece of bread and drink a bag of water.
So we move forward, learning verses and listening to the word of God without having the intention of becoming Christians.
As the days go by, the assembly grows, more youth come to frequent the space,
and the word of God continues to spread.
In 2012, the club grew like a small flower that found good dew,
the club left Bersony's house, and went up to the mountain above the mountain.
Did James RICHARD also quit the club?
We did not neglect to attend the meetings,
the lessons were animated, the debates were heated.
There were monitors who marked us,
their names I cannot forget to mention:
Daniel, Jeff who was teaching us the word.
Without delay, we went straight to the monitor JEAN BAPTISTE,
who was treating many beautiful and interesting topics such as: How does God see my environment?
The work is progressing, classes are animated, debates are being held, we are learning the word of God.
There is another day that brings mourning, sadness on our faces,
the day were our teacher JEAN BAPTISTE was died.
We lost a few Saturdays of the club, but we did not give up. MILORD came to continue the lessons and teach us the word.
Every day we progress more and more.
Without delay, an idea came to the minds of the HCHO staff,
they set up a Christmas contest call Nwel lakay/ Christmas at home,
it was my first time writing a poem,
it was quite an atmosphere, and I came third in this contest, and they gave me a prize that is
very valuable in my eyes: I can name one, an English dictionary.
We are moving forward, the lessons are spreading, the word is spreading.
We have BAPTISTE teaching lessons,
and we are more and more anchored in the word.
But, there are two (2) lessons that stood out to me the most: 1_How did the Bible come to us?
How to respond to skeptics?
By listening carefully, I came across words that touched my heart.
I didn't waste time, on Sunday Pastor Jimmy prayed for me, I accepted
Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
Other classmates called me a little pastor, but I never gave up.
I didn't take long to get baptized,
so I'm advancing in the word and becoming stronger.
I came to take other HCHO training and became an assistant monitor.
So until now we are helping children behind In this knowledge we took from HCHO
by giving advice to others,
sharing training with them,
and giving them other necessary support. Because my dream was always to see myself sharing with HCHO all that I learned in the organization (HCHO) and sharing all that I learned in my other studies, so that the institution grows more every day and can fulfill its mission.
On my way to HCHO, there are people who have touch me a lot: Fafane/ Guimps
ANTOINE/ MILORD / Sony JEAN BAPTISTE/Lionel JOSEPH (my former monitor in).
With HCHO influence, I discover the feeling of learning. HCHO give me a passion to serve Christ. I m a student at the state university.
I have finished my second year of law study at State University (Ecole de droits). I will be going to my third year when school opens. I am on vacation for law study now.
I am in my first year of ENS (ÉCOLE NORMALE SUPERIOR) with the state university.
