I just checked how many emails I sent in one year. The number is neither too large nor too small — I crossed sending 5,370+ emails in a single year.
Every email might have carried a different story, a different emotion, a different approach.
Most of the time, it carried urgency. Sometimes, it meant passing workload to someone else. Sometimes, it reflected a rude or cruel day. Maybe an email ruined someone’s day or interrupted a happy moment.
Yet, work never stopped me from doing so.
But then, haven’t I gone through the same? The same pressure — or maybe even more. The chaotic days. Haven’t I cried and laughed for the very same reasons?
Did I stop pushing people to their limits? Did I?
Then I checked my inbox.
“Hi dear!” — that was the beginning.
“How incompetent is your team to make such delays again and again? Don’t you have any shame?” — the next line.
I realized something.
The pressure and moments I carried in my inbox — I did not always pass them on in the same way.
Maybe the blast stopped with me, and I only allowed the tiny sound to be heard by others.
