The League of Railway Industry Women is dedicated to providing leadership and support for the personal and professional growth of women at every level in railroading and railway-related business for the benefit of themselves and their employers. Since our inception in 1997, our primary mission has been to create a forum within the rail industry that provides women with the opportunity to achieve a

broader understanding of the railroad business. Each member is encouraged to participate and share their knowledge for the growth of the organization and the betterment of the industry as a whole.

Last Wednesday, Daniela Fietta and Kristen Canfield hosted LRW’s first virtual member meet up, bringing together participants from across North America. We kicked things off with insights from Tanya Mahbubani, AVP of Strategy at CN, who shared her perspective on 2026 rail trends—including global uncertainties, growth opportunities, emerging technologies, and the value of a strong customer service mindset.

Our breakout sessions gave members the chance to connect, exchange ideas, and reflect on industry shifts from their own vantage points. We were also thrilled to welcome our newest corporate partner, Wi Tronix, who joined as a collective viewing group.
