🏛️ On Clandestine Masonry and the True Path of the Craft

Freemasonry is a system of moral and spiritual development founded upon discipline, instruction, and the gradual advancement of the individual through its degrees. It is not merely a title to be claimed, but a journey to be undertaken with sincerity, patience, and commitment.

One of the defining marks of clandestine Masonry is the hasty advancement of candidates through the degrees, without the necessary labor, proper instruction, and due proficiency required by the ancient practices of the Craft. Such undue haste diminishes the true value of the degrees and weakens the foundation upon which Freemasonry stands.

In Regular Freemasonry, every degree must be earned—through study, reflection, and demonstrated understanding. The process is deliberate, not rushed; meaningful, not superficial. It is through this proper progression that a Mason gains not only knowledge, but also character, discipline, and a deeper appreciation of the Light.

When this process is bypassed, the result is not advancement, but imitation—a hollow representation that lacks the substance and legitimacy of true Masonic experience. This undermines the ancient landmarks of the Craft and erodes the integrity that Freemasonry has preserved for generations.

Let it be clearly understood:

There is no shortcut in Masonry.
No money can buy a Masonic degree.

Freemasonry is not a commodity. It is a sacred trust. Its teachings are imparted through labor, guided by instruction, and bestowed only upon those who have proven themselves worthy.

As Masons, and as members of a Regular Jurisdiction, it is our duty to uphold these principles, to protect the integrity of the Craft, and to ensure that its Light remains pure and undiminished.

Know the difference. Preserve the tradition. Protect the Craft.

Not all who claim to be Masons are duly initiated, recognized, or authorized. The Craft is built upon truth, proper process, and lawful authority.

From our district here in the Philippine Islands, under the banner of the Most worshipful Grande Loja Soberana de Portugal.

We stand by our commitment to the ancient landmarks, the rule of law, and the noble labor of making good men better.

May this day remind us that the true celebration of Freemasonry is not only in ceremony, but in daily conduct, in the quiet acts of kindness, the pursuit of knowledge, and the faithful performance of our duties to God, country, family, and the Craft.
