We’re thinking of and cheering on our 5 Sydney Marathon runners this morning — Alex (NSW), Alice (ACT), Cooper (NSW), Leonie (QLD) & Nicole (NSW) — as they take on the massive 42.2km TCS Sydney Marathon! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
They have collectively raised over $39,000 for HeartKids!! Legends!!
And while our runners are hitting the road, here is our amazing HeartKids volunteers have been at Drink Station 2 since 5am, cheering, supporting and keeping the runners hydrated! 🙌
Thanks so much, crew — you’re absolute gems! ❤️👏

Variety - the Children's Charity of Queensland Heart Scholarships provide funding to help talented children across the arts, education and sport take the next step in their journey, covering costs such as coaching, equipment, uniforms, lessons, specialist training, travel and other essential opportunities.
Do you know a child or have a young person who could benefit from a Variety Heart Scholarship? Whether they’re an aspiring athlete, musician, artist or academic, please check on eligibility and apply before 31 August. Variety Heart Scholarships are open – and we need your help to spread the word!

Last year, we received just 14 applications for our Variety Heart Scholarships. We know there are many more talented young Queenslanders who could benefit from this opportunity – we just need to help them find it.

Take Tom, for example.

Growing up in a remote part of Gympie, Tom has big dreams of representing Australia in beach volleyball. But pursuing elite sport comes with significant costs, particularly for families living outside major centres.

Thanks to a Variety Heart Scholarship, Tom has been able to replace essential equipment, compete in more tournaments and continue developing his talent. His hard work is paying off too, recently claiming his fourth consecutive Queensland Youth Beach Volleyball Championship title.

Variety Heart Scholarships provide funding to help talented children across the arts, education and sport take the next step in their journey, covering costs such as coaching, equipment, uniforms, lessons, specialist training, travel and other essential opportunities.

So, so proud of our Ipswich Volunteer Coordinator, Kelly, for being recognised as a Community Hero! ❤️
Kelly goes above and beyond for HeartKids and the Ipswich community. From organising our annual Two Feet & a Heartbeat Ipswich Walk, actively fundraising during our Sweethearts and Hero for HeartKids campaigns, to bringing a team of students from Raceview State School each December to decorate the ward at Queensland Children’s Hospital — Kelly is always there, making a difference. She does these and much more!
Her dedication, generosity and heart shine through in everything she does.
Thank you, Kelly, for all that you do. You truly are the heartbeat of our Ipswich community! ❤️👏
