No matter the time, the place, or the targeted minority, one theme is consistent throughout human history: Lack of knowledge breads fear; fear begets hate; and fear-based hate all too often leads to oppression . . . or worse. Make no mistake! No matter what belief system we follow to guide and add meaning to our lives, we're fortunate to live in the United States. Never before in this planet's long and sometimes inglorious history has any people made "live and let live" so central a part of their national ethos. But there is trouble in paradise. Even as liberty and tolerance continue to expand on so many fronts, pushback against people and ideas that a vocal few deem "outside the mainstream" seems to be expanding to historic, perhaps dangerous levels. And in troubled times good people must not only curse the darkness, but light candles by speaking out--not only for their freedom but for the freedom of others. That's here the Esoteric Education and Action League -- the EEAL -- comes in. We're a non-profit educational organization. Our mission is to inform our nation's leaders and the general public on the realties of the non-traditional spiritual community. We're not here to espouse or proselytize for any particular belief system, lifestyle or religion. Instead, our job is to go the extra mile to protect and defend everyone's right to freedom of speech, freedom of thought and freedom of belief. Whether your belief system is thought of as mainstream, alternative or "off the grid," when your rights are endangered, you can count on EEAL to stand up for you!
