CAFE-UofT The Canadian Association of Food Engineers We are a team of dedicated UofT engineering students committed to innovation in the food industry and promotion of the food industry profession at UofT.

The food industry is the second largest manufacturing sector in Ontario. Today’s consumers need and desire foods that go beyond the basic nutritional needs ---foods capable of promoting better health or even playing a disease-prevention role. Engineers play a vital role in addressing such emerging trends in the food industry. They are instrumental in research of new and improved food products, dev

elopment of efficient supply chain operations and project management of environmentally responsible waste treatment systems and energy-friendly process controls to name a few. The Canadian Association of Food Engineers is a nation-wide team of dedicated undergraduate and graduate engineering students committed to innovation in the food industry and promotion of the food industry profession among University of Toronto Engineering students. CAFE began here at the University of Toronto and will continue to bring awareness to the ever-growing industry of food production.
