Brighter Children We believe in a world where every child has access to quality early education.

Brighter Children identifies and supports educational entrepreneurs who provide quality education to vulnerable children in some of the most impoverished communities in the world. With your help we then provide those children who are vulnerable or at-risk of dropping out of school with annual scholarships and access to quality education.

You already set it aside, now put it to work!

Today is DAF Day, and we have a special match that means your impact can go 2x (or even 3x) further for children around the world. This week, every gift to Brighter Children made through a DAF will be matched dollar for dollar.

Giving to Brighter Children through your DAF for the first time? Your gift will be matched twice—tripling your impact.

Follow this link to make a DAF gift: https://brighterchildren.org/ -with-daf
Or reach out to [email protected]

This special match is possible because of the generosity of Clay and Janice Jackson!

Today, on , we’re celebrating all teachers across our portfolio of schools but want to call out a special one at Villa Soleada Bilingual School:

Ms. Sarahi, 2026 Teacher of the Year

Ms. Sarahi’s journey with One Thousand Schools began in 2019, when she walked into the school and asked for an opportunity to volunteer as an assistant teacher. She wasn’t paid, yet she showed up every day with determination and a commitment to giving her very best to the students and community. Over the years, her dedication opened new doors, and Sarahi became a full-time teacher at the primary school. Last year she proudly earned her university degree in English Language Teaching, all while continuing to inspire the students in her classroom.

Her students describe her as warm, caring, and fun, and her fellow teachers describe her as reliable, innovative, and always open to new ideas. Ms. Sarahi is more than a teacher. She is a a role model for the children by showing them what is possible when you believe in yourself, keep learning, and give back to your community.

Happy World Teachers’ Day. We are so grateful for all that our school’s teachers do.

Two weeks ago our community in Cincinnati gathered with purpose at Jens G Rosenkrantz Jr.. This one-night only exhibition featured student portraits that Dorrie Schoeny McCarthy took during our Casa Guatemala- FOGC 🏡🇬🇹❤️ visit earlier this year.

The evening was filled with stories from Guatemala and a deep connection to our impact around the world. Thank you to all who joined us & supported to help us raise funds for our mission!

From NYC to SF and everywhere in between, our latest round of in-person board meetings and networking events left us energized. As we work toward reaching 12 schools by 2030, these moments of connection are what fuel the momentum.

This is Kunchok’s chair. Until two years ago, there was no school in his remote village in the valley of Nepal’s Himalayan mountains. Then aatmiyanepal & CITTA opened Shree Sunkhani School, giving children like Kunchok access to education in their own community.

For years, families had been leaving this remote region for larger cities in Tibet and India in search of better educational and economic opportunities for their children. Like any parent, they simply wanted more for them. But as families left, these villages also risked losing generations of culture and tradition.

Now, something remarkable is happening. Families are coming home.

With a school in their homeland, children like Kunchok can learn without leaving behind the place, people, and generations of culture and tradition worth preserving.

This is what can happen when a chair gets filled. An education can change a child’s future. And sometimes, it can help change the future of an entire community.

As we wrap up our Scholarship Club campaign, will you help us fill more chairs like Kunchok’s? Sign up for the Scholarship Club: https://brighterchildren-bloom.kindful.com/?campaign=1240041

Every empty chair we’ve shared over the past few weeks represents the same thing: a child who deserves the chance to fill it.

There are children who desperately want to be in the classroom. Children who want to keep learning and deserve the chance to see where an education can take them.

That’s really what the Scholarship Club is about. By joining, your $40/month helps give a child the opportunity to go to school and keep showing up all year.

Will you help us fill another chair?

This is Wilmer’s chair. This week, millions of children across the U.S. are heading back to school. But for children around the world, back to school isn’t a given.

$40/month can help change that.

Scholarship Club members help children, like Wilmer from Villa Soleada Bilingual School in Honduras, access quality education and keep showing up the whole year... long after “back to school” is over.
