📍 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣 | 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘-𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 & 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆! 💚♻️
Looking back at how it all started! 🌿

Last July 22, the 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗖𝗧 𝗘-𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 , in partnership with DILG Laguna and City Government of San Pedro , officially kicked off at the 2nd Floor, CDRRMO Building. Day 1 was packed with inspiration, partnership, and essential knowledge to set the foundation for a greener, safer San Pedro.

📚 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭:
🔹 𝗘-𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 & 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆: Defining key concepts, understanding electronic waste streams, and recognizing its growing global impact.
🔹 𝗘-𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 & 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲: Unpacking how improper disposal affects local ecosystems, public health, and climate change.
🔹 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 & 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆: Establishing fundamental workplace rights, environmental responsibilities, and community protection protocols.
🔹 𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀 & 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲: Identifying toxic substances hidden inside old electronics and introducing initial Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety standards.

A major milestone for the City of San Pedro as our participants took their first step from community members to environmental champions! 🛠️✨

Stay tuned as we recap Day 2’s hands-on activities! 🚀

"The strongest security strategies don't begin at our borders. They begin by building trust, strengthening communities and giving people hope." — Dr. Razwana Begum Abdul Rahim

The Star Malaysia just featured the KAS programme "Building Capacities, Leading Security, Shaping the Future," which brought together 16 women security leaders from Europe and Asia in Penang and Kuala Lumpur this July — including SmartCT's own Executive Director, Kris Villanueva-Libunao.

The piece captures why gatherings like this matter: cyber threats, disinformation, and hybrid warfare don't respect borders, so the people working on them shouldn't work in isolation either.
